m/e/t/a .barcelona

Sales Venue: Afternic
Sales Price: $988
Cost: Hand reg (~$20 bucks)
Hold Time: ~45 days

I had this name listed at $15k for a month or so, nothing happened, dropped it to $9.95k and yesterday dropped to $2.95k. I have been going through my portfolio and my .com portfolio is really slipping as I haven't replenished names at all, been sidetracked with meta/metaverse domains name digging, but finally decided tonight to price it at $988 and knew someone would snag it and sure enough within 5 minutes name sold. I am happy with 50x on a domain extension I did not even know existed. When I searched meta. extension, there were three extensions left, barcelona, sydney, and melbourne. I chose only one, considered grabbing all three, but chose barcelona. Next day the rest were all registered, some may ask why I did not wait out for $5,$10 and even $20k sale, but I would much rather upgrade my portfolio and I still have 100 + meta/metaverse hand regs. I kind of lost focus on adding names as I was looking for meta/metaverse names and if you got them early and can hold for years, price them high, but I saw the Twitter sale of meta .lc for $20k and went to GD and grabbed the name, there was a very short window to register the name and to boot I didn't even know that was an extension. Anyways, cash flow is cash flow and will use the proceeds to upgrade to strong two word .coms and perhaps a few brandables.

n/f/t/-/a/c/a/d/e/m/y .com

Sales Venue: Afternic Fast Transfer
Sales Price: $500
Cost: Expired auction GD
Hold Time: ~4 months

Had this priced at $1.5k on AN, Dan and Sedo, dropped to $999 last week and an hour or so ago dropped to $500, sold within minutes, I have done well with hyphen names and nft academy is a great name. The .com version is national firearms training in Idaho, so basically off the market. I think this name could have sold for $1.5k, but cash flow is cash flow and it is a hyphen name, so all considered nice roi and can roll the profits up into better names. I have definitely left some money on the table short term, but excited to get back to the grind and find some new gems.

No Further Details.

Nice sale. What was your hold time? I see whois shows back to 2006.

Thanks. GD closeout buy 2016. Wasn't approached in any time owning it so set a BIN for the least I'd take for it, sold after a few months.

m/e/t/a/c/r/i/b/s/ .com
Sale Venue: Afternic Fast Transfer
Sales Price: $399
Hold Time: ~5 months or so
Cost: $10 bucks on NP or GD expired auction, can't remember

As I mentioned before, have had a few meta names sell (had his at $788 and dropped to $399 and sold within a few hours), nothing for big so far numbers wise on meta names, but hope they come in the future. I have some at SH as well as some nice meta + keyword in .co and net, but cribs is slang for homes/houses, I doubt the end user was thinking cribs for babies, but who knows, it is probably a domain investor who bought it, but nonetheless, profit is profit and can upgrade into much higher quality names.

No Further Details.

Sold for 4899 on a 6 month instalment.

This is my oldest name, Bought it way back in 2012 for personal use and never had it listed for sale till 2020 when I discovered this whole thing.

Happy that it has found a new home.

I also wish I bought more names then haha
Few years back I dropped another 4L that ended in X.. I always loved X names I guess

Domain: Create // Me .[org]
Sale price
: $1,988 (BIN)
Sale venue: Afternic Fast Transfer
Cost: $69 Namejet backorder
Hold time: Two weeks

This is my quickest sale yet. Decided to backorder it for $69 because I believed it would go higher in an expired domains auction. After only two weeks the domain was in Pending Sale status. It took a few days of waiting (perhaps because of the 60 day lock?) before I finally got the Congrats email from Afternic. Happy days!

Afternic BIN, hold time 10 months. Drop reg.

Notes: This is a 4-fig domain, full retail, but I'm alright with the price. Didn't want to renew it.
My portfolio has grown very large (reached 6-fig) and I'm discounting a lot lately, to increase cashflow (have a new biz too where more cash is needed). So it's a good sale.

Reached 6-fig! Congrats. I've been following your domaining adventures through your posts. That is a pretty rapid increase. I'd love to hear more about your purchasing strategies/plan if you ever decide to do a post on it.

Note: . IO domains have been a mixed bag for me. On one hand, the sale % was higher than other non-coms. But it's hard to make a profit due to registration price. Probably need better .io's for turning a profit (single words, mostly). Also in 2021 since spring had tough time selling any .io's.

Anyway most of my .io's are aproaching expiry, therefore priced like that to clear.
