Meta doesn’t belong to Facebook or a specific company, they just had a smart move to acquire meta.com in the past and going to take the advantages of it. Meta/metaverse is open any company/individual if they want to be there. I assume the usage of metaverse will increase and more companies will be involved, more domains will be on demand.

I mean I guess you could own a meta + keyword name, but it couldn't be developed for use for the VR XR Metaverse space other than by Zuckerberg? This would obviously leave resellers and Facebook/Meta as the only potential buyers.

I dropped metalenses and metasurfaces in dot co (its for backordering now) who new!?
Still holding on to Metalens dot co.
They have nothing to do with this surge of meta names, they have there own properties and utilities, and still being studied.
But could just work out great as meta lense/ glasses

Mid xxx is too low. I would probably take mid xxxx.

I registered my first metaverse-related domain name, metaversex.com, in August 2020.
After that, I didn't care about the metaverse issue.
With the wind blowing these last few weeks, I started searching again and surprisingly found domains that, might work, even today.

The selling price was high 5-figures two weeks ago. I was interested, but it was too expensive for me.
After FB's meta announcement, the price skyrocketed.

I also received an inquiry from WHOIS for my meta domain names this morning. Yeah name looks a little phony.
