I think Epik is building the best ever Domain Lander in the history of domaining, and it really needs to be talked about extensively. That's why I am creating this discussion thread. A lot of thought process really goes into the project. And I can see (for the first time) a landing page that is built from the stand point of domainers rather than for just the marketplace itself.

Everything you have ever dreamt of getting or seeing in a professional landing page can be found in the new Epik marketplace landing page design.

Some of my Favorites Features:

1. The ability to optimize your "domain for sale" landing page to actually rank on Google, displaying your sales pitch/domain description. I just did that with few of my generic domain names such as ASAP.TV, targeting certain keywords, and they are showing pretty well on Google. That's a huge plus in my marketing effort.

2. Being able to change background image is another huge one for me. If you are good with pictures and images, you will surely find this very useful. I did that with Nagasaki.org and the result was truly amazing, showing the city of Nagasaki right at the background.

There are too many positive features and I don't want to mention all of them, all alone :xf.grin::xf.grin:

So I am leaving you guys to share and discuss what you loves most or dislike about the new Epik marketplace and the landing pages.

The only negative for me is the checkout process. There are too many terms and conditions buttons to tick before checking out. It will be nice if they can streamline those into one beautiful big button :xf.cool:

They also need to place the checkout button directly under the payment options. Right now it is awkwardly place somewhere below at the sidebar, which I don't find cool at all.

Sales experience is also welcomed in this discussion. I haven't had any sells so far at Epik because I started using the marketplace just recently, but the future is looking so bright.

@Rob Monster Brand New to Domaining and Epik and (Name Pros) for that matter lol

is there a way to Remove the "More Details" link from the Contact Owner widget on the landers?

i am going to be contacting Prospects directly so i took the domain out of the marketplace but now it's linking to a 404 page

The 404-page Bitmitigate? will resolve when clear history and wait 10 minutes.

Select “simplified view” creating the sale page.

I too prefer this option :)

Is it ever possible to bypass the 60 day transfer lock on a new registration?

I took advantage of the recent .co sale, and already sold one of them via Afternic.

The buyer didn't want to create an account at Epik for the push, so I reached out to Epik to see if there was any chance of bypassing the 60 day lock. To my surprise, I was told this would be possible, and then I was given an auth code and told that the name was ready to be transferred out.

I forwarded the auth code to Afternic, and they told me it wasn't working due to the 60 day transfer lock being in place.

I followed up with Epik again, in case there was a glitch or something, and was once again confirmed that the name was ready to be transferred out and that we were indeed able to bypass the 60 day waiting period.

Once again, I passed that info along to Afternic, but once again the transfer failed.

After the transfer had failed multiple times, and after confirming with Epik that we could bypass the 60 day waiting period multiple times, I follow-up with Epik once more and was informed that no, it wouldn't be possible to bypass the 60 day period after all.

Thankfully, it sounds like the buyer is okay with being patient and willing to wait until the end of April. I'm not sure why the buyer doesn't want to create an account at Epik for a push, but that's their decision.

It wasn't a great look to have it confirmed several times that we could bypass the 60 day period, and for me to pass that info along to Afternic/the buyer, only to have it fail and result in me ultimately misleading the buyer. Granted, I didn't expect to be able to bypass it, but if it wasn't possible, it would have been nice to know that upfront instead of having this janky back and forth between Epik, myself, Afternic, and the buyer.

Note: I would like to keep the details of this transaction, names, price, domain, etc private.

Other than that, the .co sale was awesome and very generous, the bulk name checker was easy to use, and if this sale goes through I've already more than doubled up on what I spent during the .co sale. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for now. My only other experience with Epik is using Nameliquidate and I liked it both for buying and selling.

To be clear, my issue here is more with being told it could be transferred out when it couldn't, rather than not being able to transfer out.

Surprising. I thought they could waive that period if you were known to them. @Rob Monster should be able to tell you for sure if you PM him.

But, there does seem to be a bit of an issue where there is a disconnect between various support staff. Usually my enquiries go the other way - I ask them to do something (e.g. push an expired domain) and they say it's not possible. Then I say it is as I've done it before. So they escalate it to someone else and at some point it gets sorted. Just a shame I have to know what's possible before enquiring, otherwise if I were to take what their support says as Gospel, I would believe that it couldn't be done. Hopefully at some stage (soon) their support guys will have a bit more training.

We do waive 60-day locks.

It helps to have a verified account and many other domains.

If someone buys a domain with a credit card, and has no other domains with us, they might have to ride out the 60-day lock.

However, if you sell a domain through the Epik Marketplace, obviously the domain is delivered instantly to the buyer.

We usually do get it right.

Hi!

When visiting a domain that uses Epik's landing page and clicking on the TrustRatings rectangle, it goes to the same domain's trustratings page, which is empty. I think it'll be better if it was redirected to Epik's trustratings.

I have been transferring names for awhile and suddenly today my names are getting grayed out locks instead of the normal blue locks. Why?

If you are changing policies you need to tell us beforehand as we should be able to do a push with zero restriction. I don’t like it.

If you guys are suddenly going to lock recent transfers from pushes even without any notice you need to make that clear to everyone via newsletter. I have been told by your support staff that I have to verify my account to have the normal blue lock to push or transfer.

Why do I have to verify anything on a push with no money involved at Epik? Its none of your guys business if I do a push or if a buyer wants to transfer.

You guys make these arbitrary changes that invade our privacy and don't even send a notice out. There is not one other register out there that requires identity verification to perform a simple push. A lock is one thing. A total lock with no ability to push and demands for ID is an invasion of privacy.

@Rob Monster
just got a inquiry from epik, and found it shows my domain info like this in the offer for both sides(and always there for counters):
Value: $15.00

Alexa: 0

Page Rank: 0

Earnings: $0.00

Park Visits: 0

WHOIS: -

Market Visits: 5

Previous Offers: 1

i think all potential buyer can see such info,at least when he tries to make a offer,he will see such info.
Showing such info to buyer does not help at all,and will seriously affect buyer desion.
in fact i do not believe what the estibot value at all.
they are useless.
can you remove such info from domains,at least not showing for buyers?
thanks.

I know many company owners, espcially those new and not that big, will trust what it shows value very much.

agree; low marketplace or low parking visit, that’s not too good to show.

lets see what @Rob Monster says, curious too

There is actually a feature to turn this off all together inside the parking settings.

1. Log into Epik, select the domain/s you want to edit and click "BUILD" from the top menu bar.
2. Find "Park this Domain" and pick "Premium parking" (IMG 1.)

3. Pick light or dark theme.
4. At the bottom of the following page, you will see all these options. (IMG 2.)

I'm looking into this now, will post an explanation shortly.

The info can't be removed, but will review how feasible it is with engineering to make that an option.

Check which TLD

Some TLDs don't actually have domain locking.

There is no change in locking policy.

Thanks but I do not want to remove it. I see that it was changed to Epik's TrustRatings.

Thanks again.

We did fix that overnight so that it uses the Epik rating by default now. Once a domain has reviews it could smartly display the domain itself but for parking landers that is not helpful. Agreed.

The trust seal technology is ready to go. Some major progress happened this month on TrustRatings.com and we are excited to finally see this deployed for commercial use.

We are still looking for a dedicated Product Manager for TrustRatings.com but believe that this project has merit as part of the emerging Epik ecosystem.

For those who don't want to display the TrustRatings seal, it is easy to toggle it off.

@Sufyan Alani

they are dot coms and they are locked gray, it’s unacceptable. I have moved many names to Epik and this never happened until today,

Also the support staff is giving canned answers different than yours. They said Epik requires ID verification to not have that gray lock.

Why when I go try to log in at Epik am I redirected to https://id.federatedidentity.com/auth/realms/epik
Hello @karmaco - thank you for reaching out.

Epik just deployed our new authorization system with SSO (single sign on). The page you are taken to is 100% safe and as soon as you sign in using your Epik credentials, you will be taken to your dashboard like normal.

If you encounter any issues, please reach out to Support at Epik.com and supply your account PIN # so a Support rep can review and assist you. Thanks!

So we are forced to sign up on another epik site just to access Epik? This is getting ridiculous.

You guys need to send announcements out for changes. It’s alarming to go there and see something that wasn’t going on before. Like the gray locked transfers and this login change.
