I'm trying to find a legit data source for looking up domain name history. Namebio is about unreliable as godaddy. I need real time accuracy.
Does not report accurate recent data history on domains. Useless as estibot as an appraiser. Need accurate reports. How do you mean?
I didnt say they were an appraiser. I said estibot was and they are useless. Namebios data is crap and I want to find a site that is accurate purchase historyNB is NOT an appraiser apriori.
They just aggregate feeds from various marketplaces, where certain domains were sold.
Namebio is far from accurate. They dont even have my domain names I bought almost a year ago listed. Their data is about as accurate as flipping a coin. Providing people false data isnt cool. Some 9f my names cant be found and others do not reflect what I bought them for so its unreliable.NameBio is pretty accurate overall and a great free resource for the community. I think you would be hard pressed to find anything like it publicly. If you have any discrepancies you can show proof of I am sure @Michael would update the info on the site.
You should also check out their app on the app store called The Domain Game to see how accurate you can guess the sold price of domains.

Ok so since there is a discrepancy how can we know as accurate as possible what a name might have been sold for in the past that we may want to buy at auction . I only ever bought one name from sedo. The rest are all through godaddy. This is not NB fault.
Just part of Sedo sales is distributed via their feed...
The same story regarding other venues... Some of them don't share their data at all.
Ah that's what I needed to know. I've tested namebio again and I can see my one sedo purchase but none of the 32 names I got from godaddy listed. So where can we get accurate godaddy historyGoDaddy/Afternic NEVER reported their data in full.
So where can we get accurate godaddy history
I'm starting to back away from domaining. I dont see how it will ever be profitable without some accuracy and without an expectation of selling a name at least within 10 to 20 years at worse case. I dont mind holding names that long but just seems too much like gambling. I was gonna do this or start a used car dealership and now leaning towards car dealer and forget about thisNb plus gd data is awesome
nb collect data what they see...
like if i sold name on gd bin in xxxx how would nb know as gb bin sales are not sent to nb so you need to see sales of nb + gd appraisal tool as well... dont take value of gd appraisal serious but the sales they show in appraisal section are top notch most of them are not recorded by nb...
you have to do some struggle if you are buying name ...no one is going to give you ready cake to eat... so do some work...
Cry much? If a site advertises to provided true data then it is expected to be reliable or else it is misleading the public. It's like saying " oh I have the best hamburgers but cant tell you where in the world are they literally the best but they are the best" moronNameBio doesn’t list all domain sales - only sales reported to them or that they picked up (scraped) from other sources like dnjournal or the marketplaces like godaddy Sedo dropcatch namejet Uniregistry etc. When I report sales to namebio all are either verified or subject to verification. There are examples also where namebio will remove data that are shown to be inaccurate. So what data are on namebio are generally reliable - versus say:

OP’s posts are as full of vitriol as they are full of inaccuracy. If you wish to be taken seriously get your facts straight as well as your analysis. Putting down a database (namebio) just because it does not include data that were not reported to it is out of line.
