I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

Been having some discussions with Adam Dicker and I may be buying a few domains from him.

A weak TBR list, but a few premium words will catch your eye.

there is usually no traction anywhere for .ca

this is the biggest thread on the web for .ca domains.

.ca seems to have a simular feel to the .tv market imo, a very wide range of prices on reported sales.

buy-now.png

I buy a number of .ca's guys and I am mostly attracted to " buy now " sections. I look daily at the godaddy buy now .ca's because quite honestly I am sick and tired of making 5k offers and not even getting a response.

Now I look at the buy now's and record the asking prices. As time goes on I see the domainers getting more realistic and lowering the buy now. That is when I say great, time to buy.

Guys list your domains on namepros and godaddy as " Buy Now " if you get no responses your asking price is too high. If it is reasonable you get to post a sold sign.

It is simple to be in the wholesale business if you know how.

As far as waiting for retail..... I'm finding the .ca world to be high in availability and people just add a second word and move on.

I have had numerous requests for red.ca and in almost every case the end client settled on RedWord.ca instead of buying from me and the same goes for pink.

So remember that we are not and never will be a .com. I have made 20k offers and been told 75k from someone that has held the name for over a decade. I wished him luck for the next decade.

Now there are some people like me who buy to lower their tax base because I need expenses so I look at each prime domain as a conquest for my portfolio. I can offer up to 5k and in special cases up to 100k but most domainers are not in that situation and if you posted more 'Buy Now" I would probably be the one buying a number of them.

Just a point.....

https://domainnamewire.com/2018/10/...nd-ca-domains-to-have-public-access-to-whois/

Does this mean we will not be able to have privacy, or we will have to pay to have it hidden?

I read that and I see no requirement for anything than we have now, full WHOIS access for everyone, with unprotected info for Businesses and partially-private (it still shows Registrar, Dates, etc. and has a contact field) for private individuals.

If it goes the other way, I can see Canadian raising a stink over it or just using faked data.

Actually... I like it, who's is a great tool for me when I am buying domains.

Hopefully if that is true...some of us (like me) will get "grandfathered" in..a few of mine have "long term privacy"..
I highly recommend that you hold onto your "cannabs" niche domains...!

It doesn't seem like this will make much of a difference to the WHOIS rules that exist now.

If you're looking for whois privacy Namespro.ca has 1 price for your whole collection - I wanna say $13?

Namesilo has it at no charge and can be turned on and off for each individual name i believe.

aFibre.ca
FibreJobs.ca
FibreOpticJobs.ca
Fibreopt.ca

do you guys know if .ca will get index and result preference in canada being its cctld ?
also why would keyword tools show same stats for fibre vrs fiber spelling ?

is this an issue for all research on .CA ( NOTE THIS IS A .CA TOPIC )
as it could cause issues buying canada variations of spelling for EMDs and not getting the right stats.

any and all input welcome and appreciated

CANADA CANADA CANADA CANADA.

Yep, and that's one of the main reasons to own the .CA, as it gets Google preference in search results by Canadians.

I have dropped (or am dropping) all my domains with spelling variable

ie

labor - labour
fibre - fiber
centre - center
neighbor - neighbour

etc etc

Too much hassle if someone wants the .com and .ca or even if I have an original idea it takes 4 variables in .ca and .com to own the variables.

I had around 25 of theses at one time which meant I had to keep 100 domains to cover the .ca and .com variables. Got way too expensive and I decided to let someone else pick them up and worry about it.

The trick is that you have to introduce your site to "Google"..unless you post on a highly visited site, you have to spend a little time

FibreJobs.ca

I always introduce my new domains to Google...people like look at a history of a site..more value!
CBD411.ca

also why would keyword tools show same stats for fibre vrs fiber spelling ?
Basic reason...American spelling versus English (Canadian) ..Sometimes the English version will get better results on Google.ca!

Once winter hits and all the hopheads are filling the downtown core madly puffing their ganja in the frigid cold, how about:

DamnThisCountryStinks.ca or AndYouThoughtTobaccoStunkintheWinter.ca
