Thank you so much for getting back to me.
If what you are saying is true I think I have a very valuable domain (HIGH $xxx, xxx)
It's a 2 word .com domain with 17 letters in the whole.
This domain was registered for the first time in 2013 and It was dropped.
Now I hand registered It.
Kind Regards.
It's true what I am saying but in my viewww it's complete unrealistic to now think your domain is worth HIGH XXX,XXX.XX - I really don't knowww howww you came to this phantastic conclusion based on my replyyy

Also, no matter how long a domain is and how much it worths, as long as nobody buys it, it is "only" the personal equivalent of the imagined amount of moneyyy

I would rather Register a good two letter domain than a 4 or 5 character letter/number random combo. This is where I think domainers get lazy. Much easier for me to remember two words that make sense together than an acronym. Plus words get better SERP for your specific niche than some random letters you bought because it was short.
Just to go for sure, I assume you actually meant "...a good two word domain…" or?

The difference being... when you die, you're leaving a loved one a nice chunk of money and not a nice chunk of debt. :)
And when I die, I am leaving my subsequent generations either millions (if not billions) of moneyyy or at least the equivalent of it - in form of super long domains.

You just contradicted yourself...

Thank you for getting back to me.
I will let you know what is my domain and I think you will agree with me.
By the way I have 2 other long word domains with the word "SMART" and I think I could be sell them with a good price.
Here are the 2 domains:

SmartMeetup.com

SmartPayouts.com

Kind Regards.

Domain Illuminati is just proving you can make any domain worth something with proper marketing and branding. I think it is both cool and hilarious.

Does anyone else have a domain on Sedo with over 15k views? LOL :xf.wink:
https://sedo.com/search/details/ind...optoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptop.top
It's not my intention to "promote" my domain here - but I have to replyyy in context to your post and in context of this thread's topic and in context of giving the nP - communityyy and all others a real example that even (or in this case especially) - long domains can reach a higher level than most would imagine.
Nobodyyy should close his eyes here, it's a FACT - although for some it's obviouslyyy not easy to accept it, they think they can change this FACT by making stupid comments.

You have to understand that the number of views on a SEDO - offerpage of a domain (no matter which one) counts on a monthlyyy base.
So the 15k views is "just" the number of views from the beginning of this month until todayyy
If SEDO would not reset the number of views every new month (and start to count with zero again - which is actually not fair by the way because its not the "whole pic"; I already contacted SEDO about this), the SEDO - offerpage of this domain would assuminglyyy have more than 1 million viewsss

To give you a deeper inside, at the end of the last month it had more than 110k views (!), you can see it here:
https://www.namepros.com/threads/ho...e-most-views-sedo.1021760/page-3#post-6745020

It's my believe, that at the end of this month it will reach about the same level again.

So again, I simply want to give a - or better: the - top-example, this all shows clearlyyy that even the longest domains (if they make sense) can have wayyy more power (generating attention) than even the shortest domains.
As you already implied, I doubt you can find another domain on SEDO which has the same or at least a similar number of visits, also not a short one.

Whoever says, that this all means nothing is like someone who thinks high TV - odds doesn't play a role in questions of making moneyyy

The best question nowww is the OP's question:
Who says long domains have no value???

My answer is still the same:
Only people who have not asked themselve why it is possible to register domains with this length.

People look at car wrecks a lot too.... Doesn't mean we want to be involved in one! ;)
A very paltryyy attempt to "compare" it.

You know, people know, that car wrecks are car wrecks and domains are domains.
They also know that car wrecks rust, no matter how big they are - while domains rust not, no matter how long they are.

My domaining - advice to you is:
You should start asking yourself whyyy it is possible to register such long domains.
Everything has a reason ;)

Ok, I'll bite.

How many 63 char domains have you sold because they were in such high demand?

Honestly, what's your highest offer to date?

I'll wait.
LMFAO I literally bought 88888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888.com yesterday. It's only 62 char so It'll sell before the end of the summer right? :laugh:B-)

"The 63-byte limit is because in the DNS protocol, labels stored as , length is a single byte, but two high bits of the length field reserved for something else (compression) thus leaving 6 bits for the length itself, 2^6=64 possible values - 0..63."

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/19304669/why-are-there-limits-on-domain-name-lengths

Like you said, everything has a reason. Did you think it was something more exciting than math?

Well, that's "only" the technical reason.
Can you only "think technical"?
I don't think so.

Colors, for example, can be used to make different marks - but someone who explores colors, will use them in a "higher level" (art).

You should always ask yourself about the reason behind the reason.

Anyone can apply subjective reasoning to a factual system or structure, though. But the reality is that everyone will have their own opinion and draw their own conclusions.

Moreover, It's an odds game. My opinion differs from yours and that's ok. It's hard to argue against the probability that there most likely are not enough people willing to type out 63 chars for a web address. Saying that there are some who will does nothing to disprove my stance. I acknowledge the fact that some do.

The main difference here is that there's not a large enough market to make that a commercially viable business structure. Most people searching the web are looking for a service, not looking to see how many tops can be found on the .top extension. Those who are, are most likely curious hobbyists or whatever.

If there's one of those types willing to shell out a billion dollars for something that has zero liquid value (ie diamond jewellery collectors may not intend to buy as investment, but still, it's safe because it has liquid appeal also) i will be shocked.

I could just as well say that i own the most expensive pocket lint in the world. (I'm digging it out right now and I'm going to secure it in my safe). It's worth a billion dollars!

You are a smart person and thats why I absolutelyyy believe that (also) you will try to buy a certain, long domain from me - regardless the points that you have mentioned.

BTWWW
Have you ever considered the possibilityyy that long domains can have short forwareders???

Like you can reach the top of a mountain by feet (long typing) or you can reach it with a helicopter (short forwarder).

A thread about long domains can result in long reading times.
Nevertheless, it seems you are a fast reader, 10 minutes is actuallyyy a good time.
I am just wondering whyyy you see it as "time waste" (?) - at least you have experienced the field of super long domains, that's no time waste.
It's an advantage to knowww about them - maybe you will enter this domaining field one dayyy

On Namebio, I've found many domains longer than 20 characters were sold at good price in 2018. Even 29 characters! Even in Org.

Kind Regards.

I have noticed that the domain

funfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfun.fun

https://funfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfun.fun

is in use - it's possibly owned by NICKELODEON because this domain's website displays nothing than a YT - video from their YT - channel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=og8NywgVebU

But I am not sure if it is owned by them because it has private WHOIS.

My point now is, that this .fun - domain consist of "only" 20 times "fun" - and that's not the highest possible number of "fun" which is possible in a domain name.

The highest
possible number of "fun" which is possible in a domain name, is 21 times.

So THE HIGHEST "funfunfun… ...fun.fun" DOMAIN OF ALL TIME is this one:

funfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfun.fun

And I own it!!!
