Not once did I say a shotgun wasn't a deadly weapon. I correctly pointed out an AR can hold more bullets, let them fly faster. That's why it's top choice of mass shooters. It's why you never supplied me with a list of mass shootings done with a shotgun.

As for your "real solutions" NRA has been advocating better background checks for decades.

Raising the age required to buy a gun is worthless. The others may have some effect but unless the states are forced to report non-eligible people to the fed, it won't matter.

You see.. Most shotguns will hold 6 shells but can be modified to hold more. At close range, say 25 yards, a shot gun is more deadly than an AR-15. Shotguns are also cheap.

I don't think a person willing to commit murder is going to not buy a gun b/c they're to young. They'll just steal one or buy one that's been stolen.

Correct question is, how many people can they kill? You can buy magazines for Shotguns but frankly, at a range of less than 10 yds. it wouldn't matter.

The dead / wounded count may have been higher with an shotgun. One report said the shooter fired hundreds of rounds.. Modified shot-guns woudn't have missed at close range.
