All...I purchased the following domains today. These domains cost me $60, but I think I may be on to something because of the .today that acts as a .com. and who doesn't want to make a deal/sale today? It was when I realized that every day is today and these names might make great eCommerce sites for all sorts of industries. Aesthetically these names look pretty good. I'm a business guy first, a marketer second, and a domainer third. What might you do if your were me? Thanks

I don't mean to be a party pooper Bulloney, but, those names would be tough to get off your hands. I really wish you the best with those.

Anyone care to help develop the site for 15-20% of the profits? Thanks,

Bulloney:xf.grin:

I must admit there has been some good entertainment in reading your posts and threads Bulloney. you seem to be trying to cram-in all the basic 'newbie' mistakes in record time.

What happened to last weeks 'reinventing' of the Hyphenated domain Revolution, I take it that idea has now been overtaken by the New future of 'Today' domains

And Nope nobody is going to promote or develop your domains, Not even for 85% of the 'Potential profits. I can't believe your real and along with your Username, Please tell us it's all just a big wind-up.

ps nobody promotes/develops others mistakes when they can get a 100% satisfaction in doing their own

@Bulloney

I see where you are coming from with the "call to action". I got 2 todays myself (goldrates.today & whybuy.today) for that reason; but as almost everyone already noted, you will have tough time moving 100 days :xf.wink: Then again, you might get luck and make your money back in one shot.
IMO the issue with these new TLDs is that most end users do not know/recognize them so you may have to spend some additional time/money on end-user education. I am not a pro by any means but this sounds like an outbound play only! Good luck!

Thanks, and I agree totally. So who might buy goldrates.today and whybuy.today from you? Gold Brokers, Dealers, and even Jewelers of which there are thousands of them around the world. Both those domains, especially for 1.99 are worth their weight in gold! I hope to have some sort of site up within 60 days, and maybe I can help you. I think I own jewelrysales.today and golddeals.today Good luck to you as well! I think you get it:xf.wink:

Not off a .today extension.

Curious, do you have an idea of what you would sell them for?

How much would you sell this for - BoatSale.today

"gold rate today" has a little under 2 million average monthly searches with low competition @ $0.15. Going to throw it up on Flippa and see if it sticks...

what people here dont get is keyword does not matter if the extension is not popular and no even when it sounds nice it has no real value if it is not an extension that is not commonly used.

you could register the same names in .now or .cool or whatever sounds trendy, in the current market there is a bigger supply as there are many alternative extensions. if you understand how a market works (large supply = low prices) you will understand that these domains arent going to sell for much if they sell at all.

buyers have to many other options, they dont need to buy domains from you. If you have something rare and special it has value, otherwise it is regfee.

After I showed an interested buyer that act.today sold for 20K 02/19/2017, and showed them their website, I'd just ask them to make an offer. Seems to me, a boat dealer like Tiara or Sea Ray (I've owned both) might make an offer of no more than 20K and no less than 1K. Remember, I own BoatDeals.today as well.

So $1,000 - $20,000 for BoatSale.today or........... $8 something for BoatSaleToday.com

And you would tell them the .today is a better deal because......?

What? I don't dislike you, I don't know you.

It was a simple question. As a business guy first, and a marketer second, why would somebody spend $1,000 - $20,000 for a domain on an extension most people have never heard of, instead of getting the .com for $8 and change? Market it to me, how would you sell that to somebody.

Hello @Bulloney
Good luck with your domains!

... I also try not to register more than one word in new gTLDs.
You can still get good, short domains, but every day it gets harder and harder.
Short domains have a much higher chance of selling and they look much better than those domains where more than one word before the dot.

That's why I did not register, for example - DomainDeals.newgTLD
but simply hand registered Domain.Deals for $73 just one year ago.

...and this will be my website for selling domains in the future. :)

I have three or four .today domains the best of them - Cash.Today
I had some good offers for selling this domain. But I don't want to sell the best of my domains yet.

Domain.Deals makes for a good website. While I'll have a few others pointing to
DomainDeals.Today, I plan on using this as my main site. My recent, mostly two word domains are all about "making deals today". Ever hear of "Lets Make a Deal"? Think of it as a domain. My domain names are more like sales lines..."Yacht Sales Today", "Marijuana Deals Today" "Gourmet Gifts Today" The average character length of my deal and sale domains is 10.5 characters which isn't too bad for this industry. I do believe however, my two word domains serve a higher purpose than your typical one word domain. How do you say "GoldDeals.today" using one word? Or "SportsOdds.today" using one word.
Sure you could use Sports.today or Odds.today ,but it's not the same. btw, I also purchased VegasOdds.today.

Finally, for my .today niche, I just own 2 one word domains, Weigh.today and Devotional.today, but I don't see them as being any better than my top tier two word domains. I have slightly over 100 .today domains combined with about 500 .com domains so I better get crack'n. It's time to MakeHay.today:xf.grin:

Good luck to you too New.Life:xf.grin:

This thread is depressing. Looks like expired domain sites are going to be in business for a very long time.

Depressing? Wait until you see headlines like; MarijuaniHigh.Today or FreePizza.Today
You got something against free pizza and marijuana?

Today's headlines will be tomorrow's domains! Enjoy.Today!

JB...it's pretty clear you don't like me, so I need not humor you with an answer. Have a nice life.

I think it was a pretty valid question JBLions Just picked out an example registration and asked how you would promote it above the three word .com (which is available to register) I don't see any malice. it's certainly a question any perspective buyer is going to be asking themselves in any approach you make
.If you haven't fully developed your outbound or static sales arguments/persuaders as yet - just say so.

Many of us with 10/20 plus years in domains don't like to see any domainer shoot themselves in the foot, Hence the many advisory threads on all sorts of subjects. You've made a decent effort to convince some of us that your from a bonafide Business background, but somethings just don't seem to jell with your apparent lack of any sort of Business plan in going forward (apart from some sort of developed/static sales page)

Ray Munro?...So I'll humor you this once. If you want to check me out I'd suggest you go the the "information" page about me here on NamePro's. There you'll find some of the domains I own, and other info about me...then I would Google Richard Morris, Virginia Beach, then go to my Linkedin Bio to learn a little about my background and business experience. If after that you still doubt me, I'd suggest you put me on ignore. Now lets take the domain I own; FreePizza.today and take JB's recommendation; FreePizzaToday.com, first, you might notice that before the extension my domain has "8" letters/characters and JB's has "13" letters or characters. While that's probably the biggest difference and always will be, what attracted me to the .today extension is how creatively and neatly it fits into the domain. Furthermore, of the 120 .today domains I own, I created 12 of them specifically for the medical industry. Here are a few; Concussions.today, ToothAches.today and ChestPains.today. Lets takeToothAches.today for example.Would I market this domain to a solo dentist or even a large group of dentists? Hell No! Because there are 195,000 dentists in the US generating 129 Billion in revenue annually, I'd either try to sell it to the ADA American Dental Association, or sell it to a smart developer and marketing firm that can display Toothaches.today all over the internet and in print, whereby anyone who clicked on it would be directed to their nearest dentist (zip code). How might a dentist pay for a listing? I figure maybe $1 to $3 a month, so if it's proven to connect patients with dentists, you can do the math to see how much revenue this model will generate.

Finally Ray, thank God I haven't relied on any of the help/advice I've gotten from the so called experts at NamePro's. I've made a solid connection with a very well known and respected industry leader that's helping and advising me. btw, I've asked my industry connection, who is very busy with another venture, if he could recommend someone who might be able to work closely with me to best monetize the 600 domains that I now own. My guess is once that comes to fruition, you won't be seeing me around here for long. Enjoy your weekend. As the DomainDrunk:wacky:com, I'm headed out with Mrs. Claus for some libation! Cheers:xf.grin:

Hope that industry connection name was not Dicker?

I think there is a misconception that you can easily monetize your domains. Sure you can put up content on a domain even like 3434fddfdfdfdd.com and monetize the traffic but you are making money off the content not the domain. You are a content producer then not a domainer.

Domains like the .todays you regged wont give you a special advantage in SEO neither will they attract much if any traffic on their own.

It may sound tempting that you can register domains for $1.99 and have your own empire of rev generating minisites but this is something that would have worked in 2003 not today.

If you have a large number of 2017 handregs that do not have any traffic and that can not sell, they are worthless. Sure you can produce content which has a certain value(and cost) and make money off it, not as easy as it sounds but lets make no mistake the money comes from the content not your domain even if the content is attached to your URL.

content has a certain value in the marketplace so you are not getting it for free/cheap, there is no such thing as easy free money from holding handregs of questionable quality.

If you are investing time/money in worthless regs you lose even more better let them expire and find better ones.
