@Sayrex @mayazir Everyone has different opinions based on their knowledge and education.

That being said, I will not go further with this discussion.

@Haris
education is not to know languages, is something more, and if you still believe in 7 or more continents, you really have very poor education in your country

I will try to explain it.
The continents are not united between themselves. Both Americas are separated by the Panama Canal. Eurasia and Africa are separated by the Suez Canal. ok, before the existence of those 2 canals, they also were considered as separated continents because that union was so tiny that it was almost not considered, that's why those 2 places were chosen to make canals.
look at the map, the continents are huge parts, separated between themselves.
but there are also parts of the world and they are: Europe, Asia, Africa, Americas, Australia and Antarctica.
All this we look at from a European point of view, Europeans "discovered" Asia, then "discovered" Africa and the Americas (both together), then Australia and Antarctida.
It is obvious from the European point of view Asia was different, another culture, another mentality etc.
Therefore there are 6 parts of the world that are not the same as the continents.

6 continents:
Eurasia
Africa
North America
South America
Australia + Oceania
Antarctida

6 parts of the world:
Europe
Asia
Africa
America
Australia + Oceania
Antarctida

I was taught in geography that Europe is a continent on it's own.

"Europe is a continent located entirely in the Northern Hemisphere and mostly in the Eastern Hemisphere. Europe is bordered by the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the west, and the Mediterranean Sea to the south."

Also according to Google , "Europe" is a continent. I dunno what the big debate is here.
Asia is a continent on it's own too.

Guys, are you kidding?
You really base on Google and Wiki to prove something?
You dont have your own arguments to prove your theory?
Your Wikipedia and the rest are written by those as you, with the same weird education..
You cant just memorize the information, you need to understand it.. this is not education, this is training..

Also that first map excludes the UK from Europe. Although we are leaving the EU (y) we are still the heart and soul of the party :xf.wink::xf.wink::xf.wink::xf.wink::xf.wink:

As for the domain, the fact that it's started this whole thread shows you that it could be worse! We are taught that Europe is the continent but i'm not sure how this domain would be monetized.

It looks like you had not education but training..
There is 6 continents.
Stop read wikipedia, read real book, read what is "continent" and then just look at the world map.
Shame on you if all your proves are wikipedia articles.
Zealand cant be continent, it is too small, and the word "afro-euroasia" makes me laugh...

Well that's what makes this topic so interesting... There's no strict definition of the word "continent". It changes depending on where you were taught geography. This guy lays it all out quite nicely:

https://www.universetoday.com/72611/what-is-a-continent/

So again... no need to be insulting to anyone. It's impossible to be right or wrong about this because there is no universally accepted definition of the thing we're discussing. There are just a lot of different ideas and opinions to consider.

There is a strict definition of the word "continent".
Continent is a huge part of land surrounded by ocean.
Look at the map, Europe is part of Euroasian continent, and if in your countries teach different, so your countries have poor education.
You cant just memorize, you must to think, look at the world map and try to reason.
North and South Americas are 2 continents, Europe and Asia is just 1 continent - Eurasia.
Africa cant be part of afro-euroasian continent, because there is no any afro-eurasian continent.
But Europe and Asia are different parts of the world...
Parts, not continents...
From point of view of geography Europe and Asia are just 1 continent and who cares about wiki, google and your education program?
