According to Domainpunch.com, .TOP today dropped 437,000 names and are now below 3 million registrations.

Massive loss! Obviously mostly because of all these campaigns a year ago.

Many interesting 4L are available under $5 at Dynadot etc.

at that price it attracts scammers and spammers looking for disposable names to abuse and use

https://ntldstats.com/tld/top - here is stated that ~48% are parked...
+ some percentage of domainers/investors - don't even park the domains...
+ endusers...
So at least 55% - are not spammers/scammers definitely.

Average conversion ratio here is 1:1XX (1 inquiry per 1XX domains)...

So simple calculation, as example...
150 domains x $0.66 = $99
Then 1 enduser sale for $1K...
-----------------------------------------------------
Profit: $901 minus escrow...

1% - 2% might be the conversion rate for decent .COM. It is certainly not anywhere near that for .TOP. If it was there were be far more reported sales.

glad you made some money, i can't justify any investment if there were only 2 reported sales for 2017

I guess, most sales are on Chinese and Russian platforms... and via various escrow services... and in 3-figure range...
GoDaddy and Afternic - don't support .TOP at all...
Only Sedo allows .TOP (and reports only their public sales, where hidden mode was not activated by the Buyer/Seller)...

That's why so small amount of sales is known.

I also don't consider this TLD as primary for my money... not even as secondary...
But for assortment - it may be...

Regarding @KINGOF.TOP
He still didn't sell anything because he wants too much...

But to sell within $1K (and even up to $2K) is absolutely possible here...

To feel the real difference with .TOP - just 1 month on GoDaddy's main page is needed...
I'm sure on 99%.

Thanks for this. But I believe this ratio is not sustainable over the long run, would you agree ?

I am sure that serious expert 'scammers & spammers' are only using .com for their bad activites.

Glad that I am focused to the top.

.top = top.

@KINGOF.TOP
List all your .top sales and I'll stop disliking your ".top is great" posts :)

You can dislike any post you like.
I mean, you can dislike any post you don't like if you like.
...???
Anyway - I know, you know what I mean.

Regardless of your industrious dis/liking activity I will publish my future .top sales in future if I will decide to do so ;)

BTʬʬʬ It will be my biggest pleasure to publish my - I mean THE - biggest future sale, the sale of all time, the sale of the absolute top domain, the sale of
toptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptop.top
if I will sell it!
And I believe, I will sell it!

Because .top = top.

Renewals are not needed. You may sold 1 within year and drop other 149 to be in significant profit.
I sold my .top within year.

The same as with lottery tickets... they don't require renewal.

Yes...

And I think, that with GoDaddy's support it should be significantly better, within 1:50-1:100...

Renewals are not needed. You may sold 1 within year and drop other 149 to fix your significant profit.
I sold my .top within year.

so all your 150 names are less than 1 year old and you are dropping them before renewals come? ...otherwise you'll be in the red.
how much you have already paid in reg and renewal fees for 150 names - is what you need to deduct from your sale to correctly calculate your .top profits ...or losses

.top came out to public in 2014 so most of premium keywords have already enjoyed 3 years of $6 renewals..

imo
