Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Virtual Reality is a way to immerse people into entertaining experiences, but in order to get more immersive, technology has to be able to replicate our real-life movements.

Tracking Full Body Movement in Virtual Reality

For tracking the user’s hands in VR, tech giants such as Microsoft and Intel have RealSense, Oculus has Pebbles and Nimble, while many other startups are developing their prototypes. The head is already tracked with VR headsets. But users want to play martial arts video games, feel control over their full virtual body or be able to dodge objects in VR. We all want to feel a full immersion. So, what are the solutions that already exist or under development?

Premium Listing (y)

nice sales there... cheap but good roi!

I recently sold a non VR domain gd premium.. my first such sale ever.
I even forgot I put it on premium! just a one word .co
maybe we are all underestimating power of gd premium..
they only show up when people do searches to register a domain.. but that sounds like a ton of a exposure.. by sheer volume of gd memebers etc.. I plan to move most/all my vr domains to GD.. the overwhelming popularity of this registrar cannot be underestimated. it probably ads up to more members than all other registrars combined. I'd have to double check stats.

either way.. I've always liked GD. its where most my sales go down alos.. their gd auctions.

I should get to it, come my next renewal times this year.

gl

p.s. got a $200 offer on VRblink(.com) today.. guess where.. gd auctions.

Yes I haven't listed my domains on GD, I put my on Afternic which I thought does the same thing, but I realised Afternic is good for BINs only. If you have a domain set on Afternic as make offer and someone then makes an offer via GD, you ordinarily don't get the offer, you get a price request.

So for BIN domains place them on Afternic. For Make Offer domains place them directly on GD.

I do have a question that still needs anwering, if I have a domain on Afternic as make offer and I also place the domain in GD auctions, who will get the offer in the event one is made..

it gets tricky
gd premium is a totally seperate thing from gd autions and afternic.
not connected at all.

gd premium is for gd regged dn only.
u gotta go to your panel, check a domain, click monetize, then clcik sell premium.

this wil show your domain with bin when someone tries to reg it.
its the only place it'll show it. and it'll only show it there if u did what I just said.

not many people know this. I don't really blame them.

as for wht you described, yes, u can list on afternic and it'll go to gd auctions automatically. but again gd premium I desribed and gd auctions have nothing to do with each other.

if u put dn on both Aftr and GD, whether u get offer through 1st or 2nd will depend on if it was made on 1st or 2nd one.

personally I always put my dn on both afternic and ogdaddy.. seperately. for this to work yuo need to add them to gd first.. then afternic.. else they go to gd from afternic.

I do this because there are benefits to having dn listed on gd seperately which u do not get by going through afternic. 2-3 benefits.
most importnat one to me being that if it goes to gd through aftrnic, u won't be able to push it to 7 day auction on gd if u get offer.

Most of my VR hand regs I will put on GD Premium Listing as these sales fund my other long term VR renewals. I keep a list of long hold, quick flip and a few speculative...

I also have a lot parked at bodis so I can see what people have been searching in my VR portfolio and price them to sell making a ROI. It makes it easier to sell when you know if your VR domain is getting searched daily (y)

I like your VR blink as a brandable or even for the future VR devices will have eye tracking software... :xf.smile:

That's a great question. I would also love to know the answer (y)

in case u missed, I just said that you'll get offer either through aftr or gd, depending on where it was made. ;)

and yes I like vrblink too

I'll hang on to it.. maybe counter high XXX for quick sale now.

its just a 2$ 2015 reg.

bodis is a grat idea for stats.. etc.. I am currently testing direct redirect to gd auction lander :)

www.vrblink.com

but I change stuff all the time. try other things.

quick question alcy? how'd you manage a two year $2 reg? isn't it usually just 1 year?

or VREyetrack.com? EyetrackVR.com? (y)

do you believe there is benefit in selling both as package deal? can that even be mentioned in an auction? any experience with doing two for 1 sales? or would I be losing out? or would it boost the sale price?

I meant it was 2$ 2015 reg
sadly, I had to renew it once at full price in 2016.

but dotser already had couple promos in 2015 where u could reg .com or .net for 2x$2 for 2 years. good old times. didn't last long and only once or twice.

cheers

I always list them on GD, Sedo and Afternic, it doesnt matter which order you do it in, but never put a BIN on them. I have done this before and if you get lucky (or unlucky) and some deep-pocketed end-users comes along, you often live to regret it when the WHOIS changes and you see who they are.

So if you list it on GD and Afternic, and an offer comes in via GD search, will this offer come to you via GD or as a Price Request on Afternic?

You can submit domains registered at other registrars to GD auctions and premium listing here:

https://uk.auctions.godaddy.com/trpItemBuild.aspx?ci=22367

Also if you have a domain listed on Afternic as make offer you still have it show up in GoDaddy search.

none of my domains listed on afternic makeoffer (and all my domaisn are makeoffer) show up on gd domain search bar for registering domains.. unless I put them on gd premium in way I described.

no one is worried about the higher GD commission on Premium Listings? 20% if I remember right? if not worried why not? because you get higher sold prices via GD Premium on average?

or is it all a risk?

So if you list it on GD and Afternic, and an offer comes in via GD search, will this offer come to you via GD or as a Price Request on Afternic?

It comes via GD with the subject line "You have an offer for your listing"

I dont pay for any premium services, always found them a waste of time. Just a personal thing though

Factor it into your asking price.
