Value of Domain Hacks

Here's my question..what is the value of domain hack? I've seen some good domain hack and i was wondering about the value of it. I myself own one and i'm not sure whether or not i should get more. I haven't seen any sale of domain hack. Why do we register domain hack? Is it because the domain looks cool or because there's a potential end user who's willing to buy such domain?

While .guru is a separate zone I think it's much better to have VR.GURU hack, that is for sale too.

Agree, it's a prime example of a great domain hack.

By the way, in my way of thinking, if the extension (ccTLD for example) is unpopular or "sketchy", I don't care how good the hack is, the domain is going to lose its value. (.it would not fall in that category)

On the other hand, sometimes very good hack will bring you to the strange zone and you will be ready for extra actions just to secure it

Windte.ch - no luck with selling, like someone said in this thread, end users usually not understand value of hack.

Nope, it could have been considered as bad faith I think, if I approach them.

They are in domain industry too. They have to appreciate that you did their job of registering it in strange .ng zone

Specifically, I am looking for 2L "hacks" that make up a word but would also be interested in others... they would need to be pretty hot 'though.
