Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I believe that there are still many decent, even great brandables available in VR field. Below are my yesterday's hand regs, all in dot com:

InstaVirt
MaxiVirt
MediaVirt
OmniVirt
OptiVirt
SynVirt
TechVirt
TopVirt
Virtection
Virtegration
Virteraction
Virteractive

Virtuosio

I also got one purely keyword based one: BespokeVirtual

Okay, I'll bite... What's the relevance of the number "369" to VR? (Obviously, I've missed some recent development...;))

I hope you're being sarcastic! lol

Orange is the New Black' is now available on VHS tape in virtual reality

https%3A%2F%2Fblueprint-api-production.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fuploads%2Fcard%2Fimage%2F97791%2Fnetflix_video_store.jpg

The dream of the '90s is alive in Netflix's new virtual reality video rental store.

The streaming service, widely credited with squashing the brick-and-mortar rental industry, just showcased a virtual Blockbuster-like store with the company's current streaming lineup reimagined as VHS tapes on the digital shelves of one of its doomed competitors.

That's why they have some future:

VRVIDstore
VRfilmstore
VRStreamCenter
VRStreamWorld

imo not enough brandable vr style domains are posted on this thread, seems like a lot of keyworders which is fine but where r those brands ?

if u were ceo of a new start up looking for a cool trendy vr /ar domain vr/ar + keyword is kinda boring in such a biz dontcha think? I sure do...

You are absolutely right. I regged them for brandable purposes:

VRappUp
AllTimeVR
eVRyVR
S*xVRLD
P**nVRLD
VirtualRealiteam
VIRTUALISRAELity
VRdictator
VReldorado
VRP**nCity

Some of them are maybe useless sh*t but some can hit the bullseye if a startup loves it. :)
But that is why brandable names are interesting.

You have to stick to VR or VirtualReality, all these other abbreviations (Vi, Vir, Virt, Virtu etc) is just domainer hype, mainly because the VR version is gone so we try making up new abbreviations. Sure there may be a company or 2 that have used it, but its the exception and wont take off and you will struggle to sell any of them...just my opinion..

Sure it's a good domain and I'm not trying to neg it, but what will it be used for do you think? Like an app store or what? Selling headsets?

Hate to be negative, but I don't see MOBILE as a strong VR keyword.
I'm sure it will have some use but 'strong use' I think is not in the cards for that exact reason.
Strong use would be that there would be a lot of players wanting to use it. But to do what ?
MobileVR is a category killing name but with what kind of demand for use.

Everyone thinks that smartphone is a strong keyword and is a category killing name but there are no really broad or deep examples of sales for it. Top 100 sales avg under $800
Compare that to CHAT at 16k avg for the top 100.

While I see the strong use of smartphones / Mobile VR, I just can't see a demand for the keyword as I have expressed a few times over the last year.
When/If users have it in their search terms, that could change. But I don't see that happening.
But the best of luck to those that have it in their names. I'm sure that some will do OK but I can't see high values for them.

I see it as an authoritative website, i.e. the leader of the pack. There will be a number of different companies vying for top dog in the MobileVR game. There will be fierce competition. The company who has MobileVR can and should develop a platform for MobileVR apps, news, updates. Like VR.com or VirtualReality.com is the pinnacle of VR domains, I'm very interested to see which companies end up getting these also.

This is my first choice of where it goes to, but second is exactly what the keyword says: Mobile.

Mobile phones are big business, can you think of a time when having VR capability is a must have for any phone? A customer walks into a store, the first question they ask is, can it handle VR? I see this happening for sure. MobileVR.com would make a perfect VR phone site.

You decided to pick out "smartphone" in your post, not sure why you chose that keyword in your argument. When clearly the keyword is "mobile". Why didn't use previous "mobile" sales? That seems very strange to me, as your usually on the ball.

The .net sold a couple of years ago, you can imagine what the .com would fetch.

I'm not saying you're wrong and I'm right, but I'm someone who like to keep an open mind and I try to see the bigger picture. If you ask 100 people what they thought are the top 10 VR keywords were and in what order. I'm sure the lists wouldn't be identical, although mostly similar.

Perhaps as I own the domain, I'm giving more weight to it than I otherwise would. Maybe. Time will tell I guess and then we'll know for sure.

Finally another "virtual" sale:

virtualfamily.com 1,493 USD 2016-05-25 GoDaddy

At least since it is GD, we shall see.

There are some solid Virtual+Keyword sales all over 2K reported on NB.

Congrats to seller.

Namebio also has:

vrcenters.com 140 USD 2016-05-25 NameJet

Where as the singular is obviously a great domain, the plural is also very decent as Virtual Reality Centers are apparently going to be a big thing in 3-5 years time. This is one of those domains I would have kept and pulled out of box a few years down the road.

Congrats to the new owner.

I do like MobileVR and it is one of the better names on here, however if you check, most of the big companies investing in VR are brandable names and other names that dont include VR in the name. It is going to stay like that and most will be brandable names (see below)

http://uploadvr.com/8-of-the-top-10-tech-companies-invested-in-vr-ar/

The same thing has happened with all the other tech niches over the years on here and a few names do sell to startups, but those are not the guys with the deep pockets like Google, Microsoft, Sony, FB, Magic Leap etc

I think brandables will do well in this niche and thats where you have to be creative and there also has to be a large element of luck as well.

understand what you are saying and you have a point but i believe there will be a lot of services and products with VR in it
and a lot of sales just for seo purposes
not everything is company name ..

I agree, but that's not to say a large multinational company won't purchase a generic VR domain. If it is part of their overall marketing game plan, it's certainly possible.

There are always going to be companies that go for brandables or generics with or without VR in them. I believe the market will become so big that we'll see all types, but of course, I'm biased. I guess time will tell.

I strongly believe in the brandables. In replacement of VR, I believe V and Vi both could be potential key names for headset launches

Well If you want to get your money back + $2k profit in just 2 weeks Lucid. Send me a message, I'll take the shitty domain that as no future off your hands.

the lame vr naysayers invade again just when all hoped they retired.

it must be sad and boring to live in a world where all new techs or niches look exactly same as all previous ones.. with none of them carrying potential to become revolutionary.. change our very reality and world.

pathetic.
