Hello!

Well today is the day .XYZ is officially released and open to the public and oh my oh my, some names literally in my shopping cart and removed the instant I proceed to checkout; I have a feeling this extension will overtake all the other extensions and surely be in the top 5 for new tld's if not #1 imo.

A few I registered

nfc / xyz
tap / xyz

at what $10 each I could go all day!

What did everyone register?! GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

Thanks! Great idea and I was planning to do just that but
a) that one is taken already (since mid 2015 according to whois)
b) I read in the newbie section here to go easy at the beginning and not to buy too many domains right away.

And I have to say it is not easy not buying all those shiny names without any clue whether they will ever sell. I am just starting off my domaining hobby and I am already grateful for all the knowledge in here.

You might also want to look into getting some of your domains developed.

Flippa.com is an online market place for websites and online businesses.

Good point! I used to be totally into internet marketing, blogging, and content creation; but then the corporate world took me in and I literally stopped doing any of those things for a decade! It is unbelievable how many things have changed since then.

I am on sedo and flippa a lot these days to understand how everything works. But this forum is amazing; looking forward to learning a lot from you all!

I have learned a lot here too.

Salesmanship is just as important as the names that you select. There are a few successful .XYZ domainers here but their sales are not public so you will not see them listed on NameBio.com. But most people do not have very good .XYZ domains. Even mine, most of them are a tough sell at this point. So it's best to develop them.

Use the terms "turnkey" "script" "theme" "template" and "clone" on Google to find software packages that you can purchase for your domains. Everything is becoming turnkey nowadays.

Smart domainers will start developing a good amount of their domains instead of selling them naked for a cheap price.

If a person's domain name choice is a reflection of their personality, I don't know what to say.
This is not a xyz, so it's a little off topic, but your quote makes me think of it. This weekend, I posted this in the .club showcase...

I just registered streaking(.)club.
For humanity's sake, I am NOT a member.

Edit... I just checked. Streaking(.)xyz is registered in China. (Ok, now this post is back on topic.)

PRESS RELEASE
STARSHIP TECHNOLOGIES INTRODUCES DELIVERY ROBOTS TO GREAT BRITISH PUBLIC

Land-based robots set to hit the streets of Greenwich, London

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, 10 MARCH
Starship Technologies, a company launched by the former co-founders of Skype, is announcing today that the UK will be the first major country to host trials of its revolutionary self-driving delivery robots, starting in Greenwich, London.

Throughout the next six months, the robots will be visiting towns and cities in all four nations of the UK, culminating with launch of pilot delivery services later this year.

The six wheeled intelligent robot will make its debut in Greenwich after talks with the local authority led to a partnership with the firm, which means that Greenwich will be the first location in the UK to experience the revolutionary delivery system. First launched in November 2015, the robot is designed for local delivery of goods and groceries for consumers for under £1 per shipment. The robots use pavements like pedestrians, travelling at slow speeds and with zero emissions. The public introduction program aims to demonstrate how easily the friendly curbside robots can integrate into human life.

The UK has been chosen for this work because of the Government’s clear commitment to autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles, making the country a world leader in this new and ground-breaking technology.

“Our robots are a totally new class of devices that will provide a combination of low cost and convenience with less congested streets and zero emissions,” said Ahti Heinla, CEO, Starship Technologies. “The robot has been in development for almost two years, and we’ve experienced unprecedented levels of interest and goodwill – so it’s great to now be taking the first step to rolling our little robot out for real. The robot has been very well-received by pedestrians in all of the interactions we’ve seen so far, so it’s very exciting to be officially introducing the robot to the British public.”

“I am delighted that The Royal Borough of Greenwich has been chosen as the first location in the UK to trial this revolutionary delivery system, and that Starship Technologies has chosen to base their UK offices in Greenwich” said Denise Hyland, Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. “This technology has the potential to transform the local delivery of goods and groceries. The trial complements the work being undertaken by the Royal Borough of Greenwich on smart city innovation – work that we believe will be significant for all cities in the future.”

Starship Technologies is planning to launch similar testing programmes in the United States in April and plans to unveil the first pilot services in cooperation with its service partners in the UK later this year.

ABOUT STARSHIP TECHNOLOGIES
Starship Technologies is a European technology start-up building a fleet of self-driving robots designed to deliver goods locally within 30 minutes. The robots are lightweight and low-cost, enabling the company to bring the current cost of delivery down by up to 15 times per shipment. The robots drive autonomously most of the time but are monitored by human remote controllers who can take over the control at any time.

Launched by two Skype co-founders, Ahti Heinla and Janus Friis, Starship Technologies’ aim is to fundamentally reshape how goods are shipped and delivered, and make local delivery, almost free. The company employs 45 people and has offices in London, United Kingdom, and Tallinn, Estonia. Former Skype co-founder Ahti Heinlaserves as the company’s CEO and CTO and a serial tech entrepreneurAllan Martinson is Chief Operating Officer.

I do not see very much value in most of the domain names that you selected but Column.xyz could be used for an online newspaper.

Column.xyz:
I recommend that you look for a newspaper that owns PhilippinesColumn.com, ThailandColumn.com (not real examples) or something that is much longer than Column.xyz and involves newspapers. It's better to target Non-US companies since the US is the country most obsessed with .Com's. But I think you need to wait for another major company besides abc.xyz to jump on the .XYZ bandwagon before selling. That is what I am waiting for.

Conclusion.xyz would be good for an athiest, secular or freethinker forum. Or something that involves logic and reason. But Column.xyz is definitely my favorite out of the ones you bought.

If you PM me I can give you free advice about how you can develop it yourself.

@dotbay

This might sound silly but if you save it (Jetpack.xyz) for 5 to 10 years you might be a big name in the personal jetpack industry.

If .XYZ and Jetpacks hit before then you can crowdfund it as a jetpack retailer/wholesaler/brokerage company.

EXAMPLE:
Phone.com
