Right!

Though I'm not sure if I should be happy because it's one of the rare logos with black background.
I think they have mistakenly approved this logo and you should contact BB bcz being a designer at BB I sometimes accidently upload my designs with a white background and they always email me to correct it with transparent background. Moreover I have never seen a logo on BB with any sort of background whatsoever before this.

Thank you for creating such nice logos!

One thing that I think that was lost in the discussion regarding our 2015 sales is that our average sales price is almost $3K! That makes our average sales prices 2x-3x higher than other brandable marketplaces which obviously means you have to sell 2x-3x as many names to make the same amount of money. This not only causes your names to be undersold, but dramatically increases your listing fees as a percentage of each sale.

Those numbers mean nothing. If you sell 100 names at $1,000 each then your average is obviously $1,000 but when you sell 99 at $1,000 and 1 at $100,000 then your average just jumped to $2,000. The other marketplaces don't have huge priced sales that totally skew the numbers like BB. Throw out the high value sales and show the real numbers.

Throwing out the high value sales would also distort the statistics. And who would tell which sale is high value? I would be interested in knowing a median value or the average of the middle 80% (so omitting the highest and lowest decile), though :)

@hookbox You are right! We regularly sell higher-priced names on our BrandBucket and are proud of it.

Our average sales price for sales under $100K is right around $2800.

BrandBucket Drives $2.4 Million in Brandable Domain Name Sales in 2015

April 7, 2016

BrandBucket announced 2015 sales in a press release out today. 2015 resulted in $2.4 million in sales and the marketplace has grown to 25,000 names. BrandBucket Drives $2.4 Million in Brandable Domain Name Sales in 2015 Los Angeles California Showing growth for the eighth consecutive year since opening its marketplace in 2007, BrandBucket.com reaches $2.4 Million in business name sales in … [Read more...]

If the average sales of BB is 3k that means less than 1000 in 25000 names have been slod in 2015?

@SCOFIELD They didn't have an inventory of 25,000 during 2015. On average it was something like 16,000 with 801 sales.

May be your luck that your name would get highlighted whenever it is present on the page, who would not want extra attention on their names but if you still want to it to be corrected try to tag michaeljkrell or PM him.

@bashariqbal I was thinking the same thing. Sticking out is an asset. "All attention is good attention."

Our average sales price for sales under $100K is right around $2800.
97% of your inventory or 27,682 names are priced at $4,950 or less so you don't sell many names above this price point because your inventory doesn't support it and definitely not any where near $100,000 obviously except for the $100,000 sale of Responsive.com which any venue could have sold. Let everyone know what your average is when you only include names that are $4,950 or less since it is by far the vast majority of your inventory. That would be a fair comparison across all the brandable marketplaces.

I don't agree with your logic. We have a great sell-through rate for higher priced names including high-quality 4L names. We sell names for over $5K all the time.

You've been on this thread for so long @hookbox, but you've haven't listed anything on BB for years. It seems like it would be difficult for you to judge the BB experience without actually being an active member. We would love to list some of your names, even those over $5K :)

With the discussion of sell-through rates, I also wanted to talk about discounts. Our average discount rate across all our names for 2015 is incredibly under 2%! This firm retail pricing puts more money directly into our seller’s pocket and also strengthens the entire domaining industry by nearly all-together removing the haggling aspect of domain buying and selling.

Could we sell considerably more names each month if we encouraged our sellers to accept low offers? You bet we could! But we don’t because this is a short-sighted decision that will only negatively affect our sellers in the long run.

How does BrandBucket deal with reasonable offers, that take more than 10% off the listing price?

Say if someone makes a $1900 offer on a name listed with a $2500 price, or $1500 for a name listed at $2000, what does BrandBucket respond?

Is the domain owner ever consulted in such scenarios? Or is the offer just automatically rejected if it does not fall within the 5-10% pre-approved discount sellers can opt into?

Yes, @Arca, we reach out to the seller and let he/she know that an offer has come in for everything that is around 70% of the listing price and give them our two cents about what to make of the offer and opinions about how to proceed..

@michaeljkrell Between your 4,689 names and BrandBucket's 2,203 names your names together total 24% of the total inventory of BB. Who knows who owns the thousands and thousands of others that are under privacy. As they say in gambling the house always wins and why in the world would I bet against that. Thanks for the invite but it's an unequivocal No Thanks!

The sales rate is much higher elsewhere and I am publicly announcing I am joining BrandRoot as I see them as the future of the brandable market.

Just an FYI: Lately the newsletters have been coming with many of the logos Xed out (not available).

Sometimes if I click the link on the newsletter, the logo does not appear on the website either, but all other graphics do. If I do a CTRL-Refresh in my browser a few times then the logo normally shows up

Normally it is a small percentage that don't show up, but in this last newsletter the majority of the logos do not appear on my side in the email.

Don't believe this is on my side as I have had no other issues with internet connectivity, so I thought I would mention it as others may be receiving the same.
