This morning, I picked up Bellone.com from a private party.

While reflecting, I realized that I have not seen many people operating on their last name .coms.

Does anyone else out there own their last name?

Mine is off the market unfortunately. It's funny you started this post, because the other day I was drudging through similar look ups on name variants. I'd be great to own mine, but I already own a million (few) I could use for the same personal-branding use.

No better way to brand yourself imo.

Mine has been reg'd since 1999 to some industrial company. Highly unlikely, that I would be able to acquire it.

Sad face.

My surname is aviable for reg but it is so difficult for spell and long than has no reason to use it as domain.
I would like to have my name's domain, but maya.com is too expensive and i am not sure its owner will sell it ;)

I own my first name + last name .com.

I have FN + LN in .com + several other tlds; .com and .info are developed for personal use. I have just my last name in a couple of ngTLDs, but not in .com. I also have my FN + last initial that I use for short URLs.

The .com for mine has been regged since 1997. It belongs to a food company.
The .net is owned by Tucows used by their Realnames Email Fwd Service
The .org is owned by a hospital.

Chances are I won't be able to own it unless the .com player goes out of business.

Congrats on your Bellone.com pickup Shane!

Would cost a lot for me to acquire mine.

I don't own mine, it belongs to a huge corporation

I looked into acquiring it long ago and didn't get anywhere. No replies to emails or calls. Didn't realize it at the time but it's owned by a multi-national corp based in Germany. No chance of getting my first name either (Bill)

I settled for BadBilly.com in the event I ever wanted to tie all my projects to one online identity. I'm no bad ass but I do think it memorable. Plenty of logo potential too.

Just found out my last name belongs to a realtor who lives a couple hours away from me. I'll just keep my FN+LN :)

Congrats on your purchase. Are you going to rebrand or develop yourself on Bellone.com? Or just let it go to waste as so many others do? I could no way afford my name in any of the top tlds or tlds like .co. They're all in commercial use. But I have my firstlast in .com and several short shortened versions of my firstname/lastname .com. All prefixes/suffixes like go/co/inc/corp also all gone. I sometime get jealous when I see others owning their lastname.com, when I know mine is off the market. My lastnamedomains.com is available, that is quite a long mouthful, but would be relevant to what I do. However, I have some relatively good shorter domains I'm having to select from, for a new venture. Well not completely new venture ;)
