Why people are doing this? :D Unless someone is trying to sabotage the auction! I don't think that is true... Silly behaviour nonetheless.

Not sure what the deal is but I know I didn't bid on my own domain. That means someone else bid with bad intentions. Perhaps a deadbeat bidder from previous auctions???

I just got a email from sedo saying that the last bid placed for Church.co is being removed. I believe somebody is playing games and sedo caught them. Some people are unbelievable!

I'm sorry for that, Keith. It's frustrating, I know.

One thing I've been wondering: how does Sedo realize a bid is surely illegitimate?

It''s definitely someone/people doing it intentionally.

It's not only your domain, it's with quite a few. If I am not mistakened, there were some $100 bids which were also removed and those domains are missing from the auction!

IP address, account info, prior account activity...

I plan to email sedo to find out what's going on, but not tonight. My wine is making me lazy :tu:

Why are people doing this? There can't be a reason to bid up someone other other than your domain... Unless someone is trying to sabotage the auction! I don't think that is true... Silly behaviour nonetheless.

It is possible and likely that an individual(s) would like to see the names in this auction sell for a lot more to bolster the price of their own domain names. Not fact, just my opinion.

I hope you got a great keyword at a very nice price. Care to share what you bought?

Not at the moment Emjohn. Not a great keyword, but a lot of businesses have this keyword in their name and had to settle for the .com with my newly purchased keyword and adding something to it. (Example: "Keyword"west.com , "keyword"guys, etc.) Here's hoping your multiyear .co plan comes to fruition.

Safe.co is currently at $2800.

13 Hours left.. looks like there will be action closer to the close of Auction.

The timing of this sale looks like an attempt to liven things up at Sedo...

But a nice sale anyway. :gl:

Sedo is bizarre. I sold kronos.co for $1500 a few weeks ago. I'm paid...the transaction has completed a couple weeks ago and I've seen no report on the sales RSS feed nor in any blog's weekly sales reports.

To be correct, there was one such domain: Salud.co. And I think it had 2 bids. Is it your domain?

Nice sale that was. I didn't see that one.

Auctions in the "physical world" are all "last minute". Normally you can observe the "wares" a week in advance but can't bid until the very last minute.

I think this has been a specifically "internet" phenomenon that EVERY auction is a "pre-bidding" auction. However, the internet auctions remain the same as "physical world" auctions in that last minute bidding is where all the action happens. I think the "pre-bidding" stage is more for advertising than anything else.

Safe.co is currently at $2800.

Outside of the .CO Premium Auction, Sedo has a name on auction currently at $2,000: SteelTech.CO.

It's getting pretty deep in here once again. Need to get me rubbers. ((:|))

I've been watching Sedo auctions for about 5 years and I've never seen these waves of last minute bidding you speak of. Why do you say these things? These types of statements are more like wishful thinking rather than rational/logical thought.

I sincerely wish everyone the best but it's also important to be realistic. IMHO.

Logical? I don't know about you, but I've seen many auction platforms in the past 15 years, a ton both in the normal world and the internet world. There is ALWAYS more bidding at the end by those looking to get a deal. Especially at a no reserve auction. How many of these Sedo auctions, that you allegedly have attended, were no reserve?

Now you're just arguing to be devil's advocate...

Posting of these ridiculous pictures...alas, teenagers will be teenagers....I thought you meant you were knee deep in sh*t. Thus the rubbers.

Sorry, I have to disagree:
If the domain has reached the reserve price (and in no reserve auctions it is allways the case) the sedo auction shows very often an increased activity and price growth. Sometimes even 10-fold. And some auctions get extended many times, usually there is 1-2 domains in a premium auction which go 40-120 minutes beyond the estimated end time.

Here are the top domains all over $100.

Let's see what percentage get last minute bids (including total number of last minute bids) in the interest of science.

Why did you include only ones that have bids of $100 or more?

As a matter of fact, what are you doing here at all?

Here are the top domains all over $100.

Actually if you look at the .CO registry auction last month and this one, the results look very similar.

Sorry to say, but one auction hardly constitutes a big enough sample to make any "scientific" conclusions...

Because there only like 3 with bids under $100

How can there be any with bids under $100 US Dollars? $100 is the minimum.

Those 3 bids are in GBP. 85 GBP which is approx $130.

A bidding war is about to start.

Why are people so interested in this auction now?
I thought "daily sales" are what mattered not auction results.

It seems it really depends on what reasoning's one can use to keep 'pumping' the hype. Go figure.
