We have recently started accepting cards via 2CheckOut, since then we have already received orders - Seems like everyone does not use Paypal.

What's your preferred gateway? Or what do you think clients like most?

i also prefer paypal, and haven't yet found the need to use anything else. i wouldn't mind having a strong second option though...

Another vote for Moneybookers, although I don't mind Paypal if they're paying by Masspay. I think clients definitely like being able to pay by Paypal but the chargeback risk is too much for me to stomach.

Paypal is the best IMO. :)
but, 2checkout is also good for Credit Cards ;)

I use 2CO, MoneyBookers and PayPal.

PayPal is the most commonly spread payment method, therefor more people use it.

2CO is considered "safe" since they have a good fraud review team that screens every order and eventually marks it as "passed" or "failed". So far I have only had 1 chargeback with 2CO. Their fees a bit high though

Moneybookers is probably the best options, especially for domains but it's not commonly spread therefor not many people accept/allow the use of it. Maybe that's the good side, such companies just get worse as they grow (like PayPal).

I prefer paypal because most use it and it's nice and easy to use.

However, at Fused we also accept 2checkout which seems to be growing in popularity, but the extensive fraud checks make it slower.

I used to prefer paypal but for the first time ever a seller didn't push the domains so I had to file a chargeback and paypal denied my dispute over two weeks later. This was a large transaction as well ($x,xxx) and I made it using paypal thinking buyers are safe but thats not the case at all. For more info visit this topic:

And the "seller" didn't submit anything to paypal and just said it was a digital good.

Some sort of escrow is the only way to go.

Authorize.net is my favorite. They give you a virtual terminal, it links into mostly any shopping cart, and goes directly into my merchant account!!

I hate the hassle of paypal and that you have to request funds to transfer to bank account and etc...

Seems paypal will get more votes in this.

When starting out PayPal is a good start. Also, having a backup like 2CheckOut and Google Checkout is good for those not using PayPal.

Once you get established well enough, then you might consider expanding your gateways to include Authorize.net ;)

Is google checkout acceptable in many countries? I have met people which can't use it due to their country location

Yes that was said in here. But people from some regions are not able to pay with paypal. That is the main trouble they have and want to have alternatives

I am really not too sure, but I am positive you can find the answer at checkout.google.com maybe?

As far as being able to allow many different countries the opportunity to have your service, then you will need many different gateways ... some of which might not be that trust worthy.

What country or countries are you wanting to service? Let me know and I can help you find a more targeted solution as far as payment gateways go.

PayPal is a viable option, and the most common.

My vote also goes to them. Their team dedicated to chargebacks definitely is a well need as a webhost/seller such as myself.

+1 for Paypal

I use Paypal, MoneyBookers and 2CO, but most of my clients prefer Paypal.

Both paypal and 2checkout.com are good payment processors. However, paypal's turn over is much more higher than 2CO.
As far as the prices are concerned 2checkout price is bit high than paypal but it is worth using it.
