Agreed, and that's what I said too, I'm just stating that it's not like he hand-registered it or anything.

This was more like a 5-figure investment, whereby he bought (at premium prices) a set of .games domains, and after actively marketing them, did sell free.games, which I still think is the crown jewel of that set.

    I'm guessing "Not You"?

Just trying to show that GoDaddy is a bit more in line with reality, no matter the "whale sale" that .center just pulled off.

Reality, and what is that? The only ones who care about automatic appraisals are certain investors, uneducated business owners and very novice people in the domaining world.

I had seen this on Sedo marketplace auctions lying there with just 1 bid of $195000.
I think this was a 'make offer' receiving that bid converted to auction..

Sorry, this is my fault. An extremely small percentage of the Sedo sales we track are from watching their auctions, and those aren't verified. Otherwise all of the Sedo data comes from their RSS feed or their weekly reports, and those only consist of completed sales $2k+ where nobody paid Sedo for privacy.

When I saw this one I got distracted and forgot to check if it came from the RSS feed or the auction tracking, and it didn't really seem likely to be an auction anyway given the price. But it turns out this was an auction with one bid, maybe an offer came in and the seller decided to push it to auction instead of counter/accept.

Had I not dropped the ball on this one I would have deleted it right away, and waited for it to show up in the RSS feed or the weekly report (assuming it completes and neither party pays Sedo for privacy). I went ahead and removed it now, and also updated yesterday's Daily Market Report.

Might wanna see how long it took .com six figure sales to happen, and then compare that to GTLDs - quite amazing stuff going on

Please note that the sale is not confirmedh and NameBio have now removed it from the database (see Michael's post). The article has been updated to reflect this.

Sorry for my role in spreading confusion.

Tbh any nTLD sale is rare. I don't even believe the registry reported sales.

If someone wants to offer me 6-figures for Blockchain.link though... go ahead. :)

This is very good news for me. Thank you, Bob. I want to clarify that not all the good domains are holding by the registries like you said, As a general domain investor(not registry) I got show center and network center domain names which are listing in dan, I got those because I actually looking for domains every day when I have free time, I just can't stop this because I love it when I expect to find some good words and don't wanna miss any of them. Also, I wanna say for realistic there are 2000+ plus domain extensions nowadays we don't need to always focus on .com, I believe in the future people will get used to using different domain suffixes if the string looks fine, they did dilute .com's king position, we need to focus on something undervalue and that's working in every investment fields.
From various data surveys, I think my .center domains are better than the test center, what do you think? I am welcome to open discussion.

Because GoDaddy's appraisal is analyzing by bot not human, Bot doesn't have a feeling, it doesn't know to spend huge money to buy a domain sometimes can make a company image looks stronger, to show off their financial power, lol.

Because .center is a very strong word and there are only a few good keywords combinations that fit .center extension, that means the whole value of .center is focus on those few word's combinations. such as phenomena that probably will not happen to .ninja extension (ninja is not stronger than the center), but who knows.

The thing is if you start a company, which one will you chose below:
    1. test.center
    2. center.test <---this extension is really existing, but not for regular people.
    3. testcenter.com

Aboves can't beat test.com for sure.
    -------------------------
    How about these below:
    1. networkcenter.com
    2. netcenter.com
    ---
    3. network.net
    4. net.net
    5. networkcenter.net
    ---
    6. network.center
    7. center.network
    8. net.center
    9. network.network

Aboves can't beat network.com for sure.

I owned the #6, the only good things about .com and .net is that it is more legitimate, the Facebook now only open for those TLDs for applying as an email account, otherwise I thought the network.center would have a chance to be the one of the best domain address of this competition.

It definitely seems like a pretty big overpay. I must admit this has me a little excited because I own some pretty nice .center names. The really good ngtld names can have solid value.

Get off the couch and go do your homework, learn the industry, find out what your name is good for, and who to approach, write a clear and concise but short email to the top dogs ! Make it happen

Any GTLDs that are double keywords even though the subject “Blockchain” is one word, must be made carefully and the combination has to make sense, what’s the domain good for / can you build a brand off that name, can you use it as an EMD for search engine optimization usage ...

Next you need to understand that any and all domains are rare sales ... if it wasn’t rare then everybody would be doing it, to take an asset and profit 100% - 1000% is a rare thing.
