Regarding this story, in the thread it sounds like GoDaddy was letting him keep the domain for the first year for the price he had already paid, and that they had adjusted it to the regular price when it's time to renew.

Was there an update somewhere that GoDaddy reversed the sale and took the name back? I just remembered that thread standing out to me because I was like "Wow, they handled that correctly!" lol
