1plus.net - The ONLY way to park and sell your domains for free and earn 100% of the revenue - is now ready for general release..

The site concept is a "for domainers, by domainers" site and my thanks go out to the likes of -RJ-, Grrilla, Cyberian and the dozen or so others who have helped test the site with their parked domains....

So you have some domains, you haven't yet developed them, you may not trust other mini site or parking page providers and you want a little more control...Yes....??

If so, then 1plus.net is the site for you..

Whats it all about?

1plus.net was born in the Spring of 2006 and, at time of writing, provides automated websites for nearly 20,000 domains and over 500 registered users. 1Plus is a site designed equally for the benefit of the domain holder and the visitor alike. Unlike those horrible 'advertisement only' parking sites - which ensure visitors stay for just about as long as it takes for them to hit the 'Back' button - 1Plus can either be a content rich news site providing multiple and unlimited pages for each of the domains it serves, a fully functioning blog or a traditional parking page. Constantly improving and developing, we provide free hosting for all, a free domain sales service and also multiple language feeds in addition to English. The site has been written by domain owners, for domain owners, it is fully customisible and totally FREE.

So, first up! How does it work?

1. Very simply, you upload your domain names (once you have created your free account) in your user admin panel at www.1plus.net - Our bulk upload tool allows you to do this in a matter of minutes. Simply upload your domains without the "www" etc i.e. YourDomain.Com
2. Then, insert your chosen global banner code into your profile - this can be done using a code from any of the ppc or affiliate program (adsense, YPN, CJ.com, tradedoubler or your own custom made banners etc etc). You may use multiple banner codes, alternate banner codes (when your PPC server cannot serve them) or use your very own banners. Basically, the choice is yours. You may even customise different banners for individual domains in addition to using the global option. If this all sounds confusing, a simple solution is to just enter your adsense merchant id number ( This site recommends Google AdSense for targeted ads) on your "customize" page and the site will do the rest.
3. Set the main "keyword" and/or "keywords" on each of your domains (this is shown as "Main KW") in your 'domain manager'
4. And finally, set your domain Nameservers at your domain registrar to : ns1.1plus.net and ns2.1plus.net.

(Alternatively, you may also simply set your domain A records to 69.73.150.25 or you may Url redirect each of your domains to www.1plus.net/your_domain_name/ (you may mask your domain if you require). If you use URL redirection please DO NOT forget to re-direct using the correct address, in particular forgetting the "/" at the end of the URL is a common mistake.)

And thats it.... Your site will be live, hosted and (hopefully) earning you money straight away.. :)

Reported click throughs have been up as high as 20% and one user has reported his adsense earnings are up from $62 a month to $290

Why should I bother...?

1. You have 100% control and also get 100% of your revenue from whatever advertising supplier you choose.
2. The site writes all its own content based upon the keywords you enter. Two examples of our different news skins can be found <Here> and <Here> These are sites showing latest news and links and ads from adsense. YourDomain.com shows you an example page with user defined custom banners. We also now have a blog skin <Here>, or a regular parking page <Here>
3. The site writes further open ended optimised pages for you so that a single domain of yours can have additional web presence. See www.golf.sc/travel
4. Each verified domain marked as "for Sale" is listed on our domains for sale page (a page that is indexed by the search engines numerous times a day) - this ensures even a newly registered domain is indexed and listed within a matter of days
5. The site also offers a free escrow domain sales service with no commission - thus ensuring you receive 100% of any domain sale values.

Questions...

1. What size banners can I have?

On our news pages, two banner spaces are provided for. 468X60 Headline/leaderboard banner and 120X600 skyscraper. You may also use additional banner codes of your choice or customization provided they are of the ppropriate size. For our Blog and Parking pages, all you need to do is insert your adsense merchant and / or your "revenue pilot" id numbers.

2. What about your straight parking page?

We did beta test an adsense for domains straight parking page (which we have been approved for) but this involves creating a bona-fide business and paying users etc - a decision we have left on the back burner for now. For all those who prefer the parking page as a first choice, this is available with the feed coming from Revenue Pilot. Simply apply to them using your 1plus.net parked domain.

3. Whats in it for you?

Very little. And we intend to keep it this way. However, in chat with our testers, they suggested and we agreed to use the house banner code once every 10 page views.

4. Can I customise my banners for individual domains instead of having a global banner code?

Yes.

5. Can i simply advertise my domains without hosting them with you?

Yes. Although we cannot see any reason why you would still want to park elsewhere, you may still create a 1plus account and upload your domain names "for sale". These will show on our domains for sale page. The only difference between hosted domains and those parked elsewhere is that domains not hosted by us incur a 10% sales handling fee if or when you receive and accept an offer to sell. Also, domains not parked on the site will also not show users banners.

6. Can I advertise my domain on the 1plus home page?

Yes. Each registered user gets 1 free "featured" domain which will appear on our home page (in rotatation with others).

7. Are there any restriction/s on ccTLD's and or type and style of domains?

No. You can park any name you want. All we ask is that offensive and/or adult related domains do not get featured (and appear on our home page). Non-english related domains are supported but certain column headers and text remains in English.

8. Are the mini sites against adsense or yahoo's TLA's ?

No. All the pages are full of content and not "made for adsense"

9. Can I use URL masking if I use URL redirection?

Yes. No problem whatsoever. The only drawback using this technique is that you will have to set your own metatags and titles at your registrar.

10. Will my domains be indexed in their own right or as a sub domain of 1plus.net?

If you point your domains using a change of nameservers, you will have a fully hosted, optimised and indexed domain in its own right. Some domains already have 300 indexed pages.

11. Can i advertise my products, services and or websites on any other of the 50,000 page views per day?

Yes. To help pay for hosting, we are allowing horizontal keyword text link adverts to appear on all our pages for a very small fee, click here to place your order

12. When do you pay me?

We dont pay anyone.. All the ads you choose to serve on our site are provided by 3rd party companies, the likes of which you decide. You must create an account with the likes of revenue pilot, adsense, yahoo, CJ.com yourself - and these guys pay you for the traffic/sales you provide. Once you have created your 1plus account, links to these providers are available in your user control panel.

13. I have applied for an account but havent received the confirmation email?

Certain email clients such as AOL (in particular) auto bounce server generated emails. If you havent received your confirmation link, check you spam box. If it isnt in there, send an email to support from the email you registered with. We would be grateful if users did not try and register from AOL email accounts in particular.

And thats about the long and short of it...

I hope you will enjoy your experience with the site and earn some decent revenue as a result...

As a footnote, obviously if you have any problems in your set up or questions that go unanswered feel free to email [email protected] or visit the 1plus blog. There is also a long discussion thread going on at NamePros.com

Regards

Ian Collier

I assume that to get increasing traffic to your 1plus domains that previously had little or no traffic you are doing all of the same SEO as with your developed sites?

As Badger says, no I didn't. As I'm not a SEO expert by any means, I trust parking providers and 1plus to do appropriate local SEO on the pages they show. I typically deal in expired domains and when I purchase a domain I do create 1 new link to the domain to re-prime the search engines before I park it, when I switched the domains over to 1plus I didn't add any additional links.

On the other hand, I do have a look at domains which show a low CTR in Adsense's reports and tweak the keywords (just as I do for parked domains) and I have been experimenting a little with the custom links facility on 1plus.

Realistically, unless it's for a high paying keyword, a domain that's only getting 1 or 200 hits a month is hardly worth spending very long tweaking the pages. I see a better return looking after domains with 1000+ hits a month.

Interestingly enough, I've just moved a domain reporting 2,400 hits per month but only a 1% CTR off parking and over to 1plus. It will be interesting over the next few months to see how that does in its new home.

One of these domains is streetwear.co.nz. It's been there a few months now & page views are steadily growing:
August - 100
September - 182
October - 248
November - 516
Kiore,
To me, this is an amazing success. Perhaps you can help some of us out with how you configured just this domain (and answer some questions that I, and others, don't understand)?

If you don't feel comfortable giving out your info, I understand...In that case, perhaps Badger or another user could fill in the blanks for those of us who don't yet have success stories like you do.

Some of the answers may be in the link supplied in links and comments earlier, but maybe having them all in one place would help many users trying to be successful with 1plus.net.

Domain Manager page:

What keyword(s) do you use? Do you find a single word, words, phrases or other works best? Are your keywords directly associated with your domain? For example, for streetwear.co.nz, do you use something like "clothes"?

What boxes are checked (and what does "lite" and "top" mean)?

Are you using the Templates (and have UK checked)? If so, which templates?

Did you name a price or ask for offers?

Are you using the news, blog or park template? If news, morning or evening?

Edit / Customization Page:

What kind of title and metas do you use? Any advice on what seems work best? For example, do you use stuff like "poker" to draw people in, or are they all related to your domain name/topic?

Did you post complete adsense scripts in each field, or did you just put in your adsense pub # in the "Defaults" page and nothing else...or both?

Do you use a "top links code"? (I don't see that in the Adsense config sizes, though.)

Do you use "link set"? "Default by 1Plus.net" (I've no idea what this is.)

Do you use Google analytics counter code? Is that how you got your stats you posted? How many can you track?

Do you use the "default template" or set each one?

Do you always click "save," and then click "Back to Domains"? (Do you click "update' when you get back to the Domain Manager page?)

Default Options (from custimization page):

Did you fill in each adsense banner code or just put your Adsense Merchant Code (pub#) in...or both?

Do you use a Revenue Pilot ID?

Do you use Alternate AD URLS? If so, where did you find them (or did you make them)? Can you explain how they work?

Do you use "Random" color?

Any specific Park template?

Any specific News template?

From Custimization page--My News Links

Do you use this? Can you explain it?

What are "Subscribed Users," and why does someone's e-mail address show up on a table along with a specific domain name of mine? Is this just info, or should I contact them about the domain?

General:

What amounts of PPC are domains getting? How do they compare with the Big Boys?

Is there anything else (basic stuff) that helps domain performance or that needs an explanation?

Comments:

Adsense channels are limited to tracking 200 domains. Many of us have more than that to list. Analytics is limited, too. How do we track 500 domains?

Every time I see that picture of the man's (or is it a boy's) chin and chest on my pages, I just want to blow chunks....LOL!

Yes, WHAT do: "LITE", "TOP" and also "UK" check boxes mean??? I have been asking this question for over a week, and NO ONE responds!! :|

I've probably got it a little wrong, but I think the UK button relates to the PPC feed that comes only from UK ckicks....there's more on it back in this thread a little ways.

I don't mind answering the questions I can. I can't answer any questions for Badger though, I'm just a user of the system. Also it's worth noting that this is just my personal experience and probably isn't typical.

street wear
verbster said:

It varies. In this case I studied search results & Overture and decided to make the keyword two words as the search engines were already getting the one word variation from the domain name embedded in the text by the 1plus engine.
verbster said:

Clothing. I haven't noticed a big difference
verbster said:

UK & Sale. I haven't been able to notice a difference with "Lite". Top means that it will be linked from your other domains (and possibly the front page), but only the first few domains you entered & have marked as Top are ever linked from your other domains
verbster said:
Are you using the Templates (and have UK checked)? If so, which templates?
UK Template "directory", but I just changed it to "Shopping/clothes" while typing this
verbster said:

Named a price which was too low, just removed it. News, Evening. No logic behind this, I just liked the evening page better,
verbster said:
Edit / Customization Page:

What kind of title and metas do you use?
Other than setting the domain keyword I've left both to default.
verbster said:

I specialise in generic names (in the .nz ccTld). Typically I use keywords directly related to the domain name after a little research on OVT ranking & keyword bids. I also check what links there are to the domain & look at the search strings from Google Analytics. Sometimes this leads me to adjust the keywords. I have a fairly strong "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude & only play with the keywords if I'm getting a very low CPC.
verbster said:
Did you post complete adsense scripts in each field, or did you just put in your adsense pub # in the "Defaults" page and nothing else...or both?
I posted a complete top banner & side banner code in my profile. I use the side banner to include a back-link to one of my sites and also display a link to my DNOA profile (I host the graphic myself to avoid putting extra load on the DNOA server).
verbster said:
Do you use a "top links code"? (I don't see that in the Adsense config sizes, though.)
I haven't consciously changed this, I'm pretty sure it's just the default that's showing.
verbster said:
Do you use "link set"? "Default by 1Plus.net" (I've no idea what this is.)
The link set is the "News in brief" menu down the left of the news page.

I have created my own one for this domain. It was every relevant link or search I could think of & then some more.
verbster said:
Do you use Google analytics counter code? Is that how you got your stats you posted? How many can you track?
I've been using Analytics for around a month. The stats I posted were from adsense as I have those going back longer & I wanted to show a trend. I'm not sure what the limit for analytics is.
verbster said:
Do you use the "default template" or set each one?
Not being in the UK & not being able to see the end result I can't work out what these default templates are. My traffic is mostly from New Zealand anyway so I just ignore the UK settings. I probably shouldn't.
verbster said:
Do you always click "save," and then click "Back to Domains"? (Do you click "update' when you get back to the Domain Manager page?)
I don't know if I understand this question. I use Firefox & have multiple tabs open. I just click "save" or "update" or whatever on the page I'm on.
verbster said:
Default Options (from custimization page):

Both
verbster said:

Yes
verbster said:

Yes. I made them and they'r not my best work (absolute rubbish). They are little html pages. I use them to either provide alternate links to my other domains or to have affiliate ads, so far I don't think I'm getting anything out of them. All they are is some html that shows if Google hasn't got an ad, if you don't have them Google shows public service ads
verbster said:
Do you use "Random" color?
No, 333399. I'm not sure why, it may have been the default when I set up my 1plus account??
verbster said:
Any specific Park template?

Any specific News template?
No, no.
verbster said:
From Custimization page--My News Links

Is this "Link Set?" If so, it's as described above, if not I don't know
verbster said:
What are "Subscribed Users," and why does someone's e-mail address show up on a table along with a specific domain name of mine? Is this just info, or should I contact them about the domain?
In my opinion it's a gross misfeature of 1plus. It is a list of over a thousand spammy addresses with a few genuine ones thrown in. It's from people that have entered an email address into the "Join Our Mailing List" at the top of the page. Unfortunately there is no way to either prune it or switch it off.
verbster said:
General:

What amounts of PPC are domains getting? How do they compare with the Big Boys?
PPC is standard Google adsense rates. 1plus takes 10% of the page views for their ads, so on-average will be getting 10% of the revenue. Being left with 90% of the revenue for no cost is the best deal I've seen.
verbster said:
Is there anything else (basic stuff) that helps domain performance or that needs an explanation?
Not that I've explored and can think of at the moment.
verbster said:

This is one of my "bete noire"s. I don't even try. I just try to guess which of my domains is worth tracking & accept that a percentage of my clicks are coming from who-knows-where.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS to ALL!!!

Kiore,

Thank you, thank you. thank you!!! You have clarified so many things about 1Plus for all of us.

In the spirit of the season, I would like to share with the community everything I have learned thus far about using 1Plus.net. The following detailed step-by-step instructions are from my own experience and the culmination of everything I have learned from kiore and others in this thread. Some are my own opinions on how to do things. I make no guarantees of correctness or efficacy - "your mileage may vary".

Badger - if there are any errors, flaws in my logic, or major points I may have left out, please let me know and I will make adjustments. I guess, now that I see the power and flexibility of 1Plus, I am slowly becoming a convert. Thanks for all your hard work (I just wish you had answered my email).

Wow, excellent work Artful..

Aside from a couple of minor blemishes and omission, youre pretty much there.

With regard the UK and lite options - these are relative to our trial feed provider. (stats available shortly).

Basically, if a visitor from the UK finds your site and you have the "UK" box checked, they will get to see a parking page, the likes of which can be seen on the 1plus homepage. If you set your categories and keywords (from the limited options available), appropriate ads will be displayed.

When we implement adsense into our system (very shortly when legals are complete) the smart new parking option will be available to all. And payment will come from us.

"Lite" is simply another version of a parking skin. (i'll attach an image of this)

But like i said, both these skins will be customisable by our users. Your own images, your own keyword/s, your own relative searches etc etc.

Just let us get properly organised first.. :)

Room For Improvement

...
Badger,

Thanks for the kudos and clarifications (I FINALLY understand what "UK" and "Lite" check boxes are for).

What are the "minor blemishes and omission"? I would like to polish up my master document. I have already added instructions for adding "URL Channels" in GoogleAdSense.

I will add more to this document as I learn, and 1Plus changes.

BTW, did you get my PM? Seems like your answer is in your post - the new templates are only viewable in the UK and ONLY if I have "UK" checked for that domain. Am I right? If so, that's a shame for those of us across the pond!

It is, but like i said in my post, our current UK test is merely that, "a test". We will serve adsense for domains soon - which means that everyone can choose the new parking skins.. Or keep either of the news skins or blog - or anything else we can dream up in the meantime.

Expanding Keyword Length

Badger,

Do you think we could get the max length of the "Keyword" that appears in the News Template "Latest xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx News" banner to be greater than 15? It lops off after 15 characters. 15 is so very limiting, and there is room in that banner for at least 30 characters.

Thanks for your consideration.

Do I have to apply to Revenue Pilot?

If a vistor to my domain/site clicks through the "more news" option off of the evening news page and gets to a parked page will I get a credit for payment if he or she clicks on one of the ads?

Do I have to apply to Revenue Pilot first to be eligible for payment?

Also, I've noticed some 1plus domains have hundreds of pages indexed?

How long does that take, generally speaking?

It's beginning to look like 1plus may become the number one site for domainers!! :kickass:

>>>>> Thank you, the 3 wise men <<<<<

Nothing at you Badger, I know how hard you are working round the clock.... but alas, necessity IS the mother of invention.

On the 17th page of this thread...
Finally!!!!! A comprehensive, working USER GUIDE for 1plus Parking!!!!!

I want to extend thanks AND congratulations to 3 participating members.
1st, kiore for sharing his success... who would have thought that post would lead to this.... and I'll be getting back to him right after this...

2nd, THE verbster for spending the time to ask well thought out questions. Without those we wouldn’t have gotten this.....

kiore again, and as stated already... Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. That was as decent an act of sharing and honest, straight up NP'r attitude as I have seen since I joined. Not many would have gone that deep.
And that friends leads me to here....

3rd, ArtfulWebSites... and man what can I say... I have struggled with that manager since the first week 1plus opened.
On several attempts I thought I must be retarded, (lame perhaps) because I couldn’t whip that beast with a shotgun and 00 buck loaded for bear.
I have not implemented your steps yet, but lo and behold, I understood them! Thank you, sir.

To those of you that were in the same boat as me on this...
We all, (including the former Collieri) owe these 3 a debt of gratitude.
I believe this will make a HUGE difference in the results for a good percentage of members like myself that were only receiving the benefit of indexing and building for our newly reg'd names and will now start to monetize.

Rep up'd to the 3 wise men for baring these gifts to all, in this, the holiday season.

Peace,
Cyberian

Hit counter

My hits all say Zero for quite some time now. Why is it not counting. I used to get several 100. Ever since they added the UK keyword thing I get zero hits!

Evening News Vs. Morning News

More Questions:

It looks like Morning News offers more feed stories than Evening News due to the layout. Does this mean a greater chance at having more pages indexed without repeat content?

Sometimes my page will display a right skyscraper banner ad (usually EBAY) instead of a Google banner. Since I'm not an Ebay affiliate is there any way I can change this?

Is there any way to make the picture that loads on the evening news page match the keyword's subject? Sometimes, for example, a tech domain will have a picture of children load with it.

Thanks for the help y'all!!

:)

Where Are "Hits" and IP Addresses???

mgt said:

I have been wondering that as well!! Also, if you click on the "0" hits number, it brings you to the "Domain Unique Visitors for ..." page for that domain, which displays: "ID IP Date".

Questions:

1. What is the "ID"? Seems like just a generated ID number. What would I use this for?
2. Why are ALL the "IP" addresses "0.0.0.0"? That seems rather useless!
3. It is rather cumbersome to have to click on each domain individually, and then go back for the next one. Is there some way to see this display for ALL domains?
4. What does "Hits" mean anyway? Page views (impressions)? Click throughs?

I suspect we have all been wondering this. Any answers, Badger?
