I have a few of my sites in my signature, I post more than him, and I get hardly any traffic from my signature links.

Just FYI...

So you think it's from type-ins? There's a lot of Zune hype and people are wondering what names are selling for. That may be one reason.

I already answered that.

Your first post had the question I forgot to answer.

$0.

You second post implied that Mr. Johnson consider your domain's value based on stats provided. Since this is a forum, you should probably expect a response when you're posting stats or anything else for people to look at.

I thought about this one myself. Zunedom, zuneworld, those permutations. These sorts of domains, to me, are meta-domains and their value will largely depend on how popular the Zune ends up being. If people get into it enough that they want to hang out in/create communities of Zune users then I can see these sorts of meta-names doing pretty well.

Hard to assign a dollar value, entirely depends on how popular the product ends up being, I think.

ripley.

Thanks for the meritorious opinion. :)

A DN can become popular and more vauable if you promote it. I think that's why most names get dropped or lowballed in an "appraisal"

No promotion = less value.

That's true. However, most premium names are appraised based on PPC revenue. Revenue domainers want unadulterated direct navigation or SE indexed names. ZuneMusic.com, for instance, is worth a bunch b/c you can be assured it will get type in traffic eventually - lots of it - and with it, revenue. "Brandable" names on the other hand are someone's best guess at what an end-user may be willing to pay. Who knows?? The only way to guess is to see how many similar names are out there and what they have sold for in the past. The more similar names available, the less value. You'll almost never sell a name like this to a reseller because there's very little for them to base it's value upon. The only hope is find an end-user who really really wants to spend $1,999 on your name instead of hand regging the .org for $6.

Promoting a parked domain is fine. Linking to it is questionable.

Apparently, if you list your name with a price tag, it's 5 times more likely to sell. So $1,999.00 is not bad for those with a real eye to the future. As opposed to those that are the Here-and-now trying to reinvent the wheel.

But keep in mind, I would never discuss selling one of mine here. It's just not the place for it ":imho:" as you would say.

Figuring that you have allegedly 35,000+ users signed up and you only have allegedly anywhere between 300 and 500 users at a time on here, there's a problem, or it's that the only ones that are left are the domain slam talkin', lowballin' know-it-all bullies.

Maybe? Maybe not...It's just a guess.

Nice name, but nothing more than the reg fee, maybe 1.5X as much as the reg fee, but that is it. Sorry =/
But developed, and you have a nice little site going =]
