The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Something I also forgot to mention is that the site would come complete with Surreal-Media template licence (currently not used) and a lifetime VB licence.

Hey spadez8, only basing on your stats, i think your site has some good potential. People can pay up to low $x,xxx for a site with this traffic.

However, there are several reasons you rarely could reach similar figure.

- It's an established forum, it means the buyer should start administer it and spend lot of time everyday, otherwise traffic would decrease drammatically.
- It's very niche forum. As you said, only 1,5% of this game (CounterStrike something) has this "zombie mod" installed, and then the buyer has to be a player and know this mod. Rare combination.
- Every website buyer has the goal to monetize the sites they acquire. Blogs, content websites are easier to monetize, some SEO work, put adsense everywhere and, sometimes, do some ad campaign. Other kind of websites, i don't know, portals or online shops are other kind of revenues, besides ads sometimes. With the forums the only way is placing a fair quantity of ads (cpm+cpc campaigns) and sometimes it reduces traffic because most of the ads results annoying on a forum.

That's why i think you can't get more than mid $xxx from zombiemod.com .

Just my 2 cents.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your review, it was very helpful. It might be worth mentioning some other facts about the website:

We currently make $60 a month from paid adverts on the website and also have google adverts as well which bring in a decent income.

Last year we secured a sponsorship worth £1000, in which a server company provided a dedicated server specifically for zombiemod (which we then resold to clients) for 12 months in return of being the sole sponsor of the plugin. The also more recently secured a similar, but smaller sponsorship with another leading sever provider for a short term period.

Even if people dont know about the mod, I hope they would see the money making potential.

Excellent spadez8, with these new informations, more scenaries have been opened.

Usually a way to value a website is: total monthly income X 18/24.
If you make $60/month from ads (but you have to provide proofs). I didn't believe you would reach similar revenues from adverts ;).

And yes, i haven't considered exclusive sponsorships too. LOL.

Adding these facts, your site would increase its value a lot. I think low-mid $x,xxx is a realistic appraisal now. There is always the problem of the time, a buyer should spend lot of time behind the forum, but sometimes they do.

Hi,

Im sorry I should have supplied the information before. This is only a consideration at the moment as I need to run this past c0ld. Do you think namepros would be a wise place to sell this website or is namepros more focused on domains only?

Namepros is a good place, yes, but i'm not sure it is the BEST place where to sell a website, since it is mainly focused on domains.
But there are a very active websites marketplace, and a great web development section.
