domain youtubers.co.uk (site is suspended, massively spammed, I have some questions...)

I am really unclear on what to do, as I completely forgot about this site. It's just a phpbb forum set up to talk about youtube.

Anyway it's suspended (as in I didn't renew it) but I can still pay a fee to get it back.

In the last 3 months before being suspended, the website went from nothing to being massively spammed by bots. It has 200,000 posts, 3000 members and now has an alexa rank of 3,200,000.

Many threads are getting 10-15 views and without looking too hard I found some with 50 views. Does this mean there are real people coming to the site and viewing the topics, even if they aren't posting, as it doesn't look like any real people are posting, every post is an ad, almost 0 threads have a reply to it. I am wondering do bots view threads?

Has this added anything to the value of the domain? the site isn't banned by google.

I have google analytics with the site and it's showing 50 unique views a month for the last 3 months, are these the stats on the real users who come to the site? as clearly it's getting way more than 50 unique views a month.

I could delete the database contents and start fresh, put anti bot protection on the forum. But is it just like only a newly registered domain or is it worse cause of the spam?

How much do you value the domain at and given the above how much do you value it at?

Any insights would be useful, I am considering paying the fine to nominet to get it back, as my registrar won't renew suspended .uk domains.

If you're getting 200K posts with only

50 unique views a month for the last 3 months

they're Not Real. Also, the domain name in question contains the word YouTube which is a registered trademark of a world famous brand owned by Google and monitored by the protection agency Mark Monitor. You might not want to mess with these people when it comes to such an obvious infringment of their mark.

Hi, it could be that some bots show up on Google Analytics and some don't, which might explain the difference in numbers. I seem to recall that it was that way on my forum before I implemented proper captcha. That took care of the problem overnight, by the way.

Thanks for the information and I have now asked nominet to cancel the domain as I read up on TM infringements and I don't wanna be involved in that in any way, i registered the domain a year ago and wasn't think about it at all...

Better to focus on my newly created website, endofthe.us thanks for the help!
