Hi,
whats are your thoughts on brandable and pronounceable LLLLL.com domains
For example - quick and randomly checked: paols.com (currently available)
Is it worth investing on these type of names?

Thanks for the tool Jesse :)

I agree with you -- 4 letter names and 5+ letter names are 2 different beasts when it comes to strategy.

No doubt in my mind, a certain portion of an LLLL.coms value is "because it's short". With almost 12 million 5L.coms, being short just doesn't cut it anymore.

It's funny you mention Yofie.com, that happens to be one of my favorite 5L.coms I've seen around Namepros and a perfect example of when a 5L.com may be more valuable (or at least a good alternative) to an LLLL.com.

With the 5+ letter brandables, I concur that length matters less compared to quality. Who'd register sudok.com, a CVCVC no less over sudoku.com?

Sudoku's meaning aside, it's just easier on the ears than sudok...

Well let's put that to the test. yofie.com vs yfie.com ...which has more value?

I believe brandables are best with a 5-7 letter combination. The key imho isn't having just a handful but instead having a large enough selection for a buyer to choose from. A good end-user buyer might fork over $1k for a solid nonsense brandable like Witza.com.

My opinion in no way means to deter investors from 4Ls but the differences should be noted. I think brandables are a very different target than 4L buyers which for the time being appear to be "collectors" via other domainers.

I am also doubtful that 5Ls will sell out within the next decade but no matter...there are only so many pronouncable combinations.

Oh and btw..I have a neat tool that lets you create random names which could be used to also generate domain names too.

I think 5L domains have potential but they would be a good few year hold to gain momentum. Still plenty of pronouncable ones out there, it's really picking the best ones now while you can.

You guys do not seem to worry at all about letter quality. I found a couple high premium CVCVC and thought I was really smart:
mocod.com
debab.com

Now it looks like you guys think that a Z or V doesn't matter a bit.

LLLLL.coms are truly very different from LLLL.coms.

I don't worry a bit, The ever popular CVCV and ect, Is complete domainers language, end users don't speak domainer language.

When i started registering 5L.coms, I got all the Two word generics that i thought had nice potential. It is pretty cool to have a name with two generic words, In only 5 letters. One of my 5L's, Teeoz.com is a raw example of one i own, Good for a T-Shirt site.

I have much better than Teeoz.com, In the batch of 2 word 5L.coms i regged. I spent a few months searching and regging all the two word, generic 5L.coms, I was picking up branders at the same time.

The majority of the time i was regging branders as well a two word generic 5L.coms, I was completely thinking "Web2.0"

The up rising of Web2.0 will make these type of names prosper, In my opinion.

I'm publishing a letter frequency and price report on LLLL.coms later today. Some of the "premium dogmatized" members here may be surprised by some of the findings.
