Your take on the sale of TripleCreditReport.com?

Apparently TripleCreditReport.com sold for $260,000. Amazing, but is it for real? Does anyone have more of an inside scoop on this? More than a curiosity for me, as I own the plural version of this domain.

At first glance I don't think this can be legit.

It is one of, if not the most bloated domain sale I have seen in quite some time. No offense to whoever bought it.

- Results 1 - 10 of about 41,000 for "Triple Credit Report".
- 2,900 "Broad" Searches on Google Keyword Tool

Those numbers are not that impressive at all.

It is the kind of sale that spawns a bunch of newbies registering any similar domain with hopes of striking it rich.

i want to say though i believe ron and dnjournal are pillars of community but this sale aint right

Sounds alot but for an end user it does exactly what it says on the tin and it looks like its a niche industry term

Im skeptical of this sale as well. I mean were talking about a domain registered only 4 years ago. However, recently whois privacy was added to the domain name - suggesting there could be a change in ownership.

Also, Archive history shows a parked page previously where as it appears there is now an Affiliate page.

However, there just doesnt seem to be "enough" traffic for those keywords to warrant the price. But... if DNJ Reported it, Ron had to have seem some proof.

Down here in Ft Lauderdale Florida they run a late night ad for a company calling themselves "Tripple Credit Report" - so maybe the guy sitting on it got lucky.

1.) The sale is not legit.
2.) The sale is legit, and the buyer got totally ripped off.

TripleCreditReport.com is now an active website, advertising exactly what the domain name says and offering a "triple credit report". So, this would seem like a genuine end-user sale after all..

I think the sale was real. Triple credit report is the "new" thing. Did the buyer over pay? Yes, but every seller get's lucky from time to time.

One wouldn't think 8008.com would sell for $58,888.88 either, but it was reported on DnJournal.com today and Ron knows the buyer. Along with several others like 247World.com which grabbed $8,888.88 etc.

People ask crazy prices sometimes and at times... their is a crazy buyer to pay it :imho:

I'm seeing Ads Everyday for "Get your Credit Reports from the Big 3 Agencies" etc ...

Do a search on Google for "Triple Credit Report" and look at the Sponsored ads folks. Looks pretty legit to me.

And who among us Doesn't want a little Love for longer Domains ?
