I bought a domain for approx $49 nearly 2 years ago for 1year only but didn't extend it and allowed it to expire only to find it being advertised as a premium domain for just over £2000 gap so what ever it goes on to sell for is effectively - 3 renewals eg initial purchase and 2? renewals is how much I left on the table lol

And or how much I should have priced the domain for when I owned it

Anyone can slap any high price tag on any domain. Doesn't mean that's the actual price or that it will sell at that price. Been there done that.

Some domains I let go have been taken and have $8-$10k price tags just sitting unsold for years.

Who knows if it will ever sell?

Of course aging a good domain seems to add value.

Seems to be the smart game plan in domaining.

You just need a good domain to sit on and the capital to sit and wait.
