Guys, your NamePro opinions here are highly appreciated. I registered this domain name (pumapard.com) roughly 8 years ago for a friend's pet business that didn't go as planned, so I threw the name in the market. I've always kept the price below 3K BIN even when AI Appraisals suggested moderately higher value for its brandability.

However, recently I noticed someone had registered pumapardS.com (plural) and threw it in the same market for a whooping $49,999. You read that right, not $4,999 but actually almost 50K BIN. What? Am I missing something here? Is there some voodoo magic these people use to make those sales? I'm not that much of a domainer but I do hop in as a hobby every now and then with just over 100 names mostly .COM scattered around on various platforms BUT I've NEVER sold anything above 10K.. so I wonder how these people so confidently set such high prices for not-so-good domains in my opinion. Am I underselling? Thanks in advance for your advice

While it is an animal, it's not a very common word so it's a stretch.

May have some value, but it's speculative.

Just when you said that, I went to check out another similar hybrid animal "Caracat.com" and behold the owner put it at 35K BIN even though my Pumapard is much more popular than theirs. I wonder how these people are so confident to overprice domain names like that! hmmm!

They're likely waiting for the Caracat brand to buy the domain

See Cara-cat [.] com

I didn't even know a brand existed. I just evaluated the popularity of mine over theirs from how many times the word is used all around the internet. Yet they have the balls to set BIN at 35K, the nerve of them. Thanks for the insight

If you're up to sharing, we'd love to hear more about your <10k sales.
I didn't mean to be boastful. As a rookie in this game, I'm learning a thing or two. Sometimes the domain names I think don't make sense at all are the ones I get the best offers for. Example Just 3 months ago I sold a domain for over 4K. That's the domain I almost allowed to expire last year because I thought it had no value. Just that one last renewal, just like that, godaddy informed me the customer offered my BIN. I later learned that customer cut out a middleman who wanted 6K and would have rather paid me the 6K if that was my BIN.

This is why I'm starting to ask the opinions of you Pros in the game.

Caracat is catchy whereas pumapard isn't as much.

One indicator of demand is Caracat is registered in 5 extensions and Pumapard is registered in only one, .com.

That's a great point. I didn't even notice that it's in .de, .ru, .eu, .club. However, I do have other .COM domains registered in 3 or more extensions too, like xGage.com (5) , 2PacShakur.com (3), Crownberry.com (7) etc... and with many companies around the world using those names as their brand. But I never set a price above 10K. I wonder how these people actually succeed selling 35K, 50K etc.

I wonder how long he'll wait when the company is already used to their official hyphenated domain "cara-cat"
