Look at DNJournal's big board... I don't see but one or (maybe) two that are "porn". You'd be better served buying great names that have traditional commercial applicatons, IMHO.

I don't lay judgements on porn +/-, but have picked up a few which account for about 0.05% of my portfolio. One of my best earners in ppc action is a porn typo of all things- the best of both worlds, I guess you could say. I have taken it off of Sedo, have hooked up w/ an appropriate affiliate and am putting a site up that uses their "teaser" material and is basically a big link to their site. The other porn and adult joke themed names that I have are not close to the level of some of my "better", carefully picked regs or drop pick-ups, but are always in the top 10-15% of my ppc earners.

If you have domains w/ porn, gambling, smoking, drinking, drugs and rock-n-roll, they'll flock to you. Education, humanitarianism, and sites w/ a positive social spin, on the other hand, are a hard sell and need alot of work.

This is a broad generalization, and I am saying this w/ tongue in cheek, but from the results that I have gotten from within my own experience, this is not too far from the truth.

To illustrate, I just thought up xxxsexx, ran it through my whois checker and all of the major exts are gone. (BTW, xxxsexx.us is still avail.) :D

Despite what I just posted, I agree w/ Allan wholeheartedly- you won't see me dashing to reg xxxsexx.us, or running long lists of porn possibilities, for example. Kind of analagous to the tortoise and the hare, IMHO.

Oh I wasn`t thinking about selling domains...I was thinking more about developing them in to some sort of TGP or link exchange.
If you are thinking about buying them and then selling them, then I agree it`s not much of a deal...
