Yahoo.IN is up now.
And yahoo.co.in redirects to in.yahoo.com (as always been)

What i had observed is that, many major companies got their .IN names allocated on 9th March. They were under 'pending evaluation' before that date.

Also seen companies drop their co.in names (one example is Xerox.co.in) after getting the .IN name.

Is the wind slowly blowing towards .IN ?

Internet companies of India are actively advertizing the .IN tld. I have also found a whitepaper produced by NIC india before the .IN launch, about their stratagy and the proposals. (if interested PM me)

I think the general feeling is that .IN will be a big hit. As posted in earlier threads, Manufacturing in Indian is big and will continue to grow, along with all other aspects of business.

Hopefully we can get generate some good sales from .IN !!!!!!!

I don't think .in is growing more rapidly than most expected. I remember saying this a while back, but I said at the time .co.in domains are worth more but the .in names are worth being held on to because they'll be worth more in the future.

Why? .co.in was out first but .in makes for the better domain because it's shorter and still pretty cheap when you get down to it.

We'll continue to see this move towards .in I think.

.IN is going to do really well in the future. The domain's moderately high price insures lesser scams, and the price is starting to pan out nicely. I think most major .co.in brand will/already have moved to .IN domains and last but not least, .IN sounds pretty cool too!

This extension is way better than .co.in, i would personally like to type in .in rathetr than .co.in so i think the genrally trend towards this ext is encouraging, many people now prefer to register a .in name instead of a co.in. It is even being used a golbal TLD, in has many exotic combinations still available!
