Ok, I noticed someone has been registering WWW TYPOS of some of my domains!!!
First of all...**** HIM OR HER!!! ;)
...
Second, is this still even worth it???
Especially, as I remember, ICANN ruled AGAINST the use of WWW in front of domains since its a waste of time and in big corporations "time is money"!!!
...
Anyone care to put in their 2 cents on this issue???
...
Thanks!

what if the www is at the end of the word?
I own a domain todaywww.com, hope it is not offending anyone.

No, the discussion is about typo domains. The traffic come from people who typo an existing address by typing the www and omitting the "."

Ron, your cybersquatter guy (some Ronan Dunphy from Dublin) unfortunately probably IS making reg fee back: Alexa rank is 4,449,028!
namepro.com is even higher at: 1,982,873!!
...
BTW, anybody heard of DOMAINDOORMAN, LLC (domaindoorman.com), Domain Drop S.A. (domaindropsa.com) or MAISON TROPICALE S.A. (maisontropicale.com) and belgiumdomains.com???
...
PLEASE TELL ME ANYTHING YOU KNOW ABOUT THEM!
...
THANKS!

SQUATTERS!!! Have run up against belgiumdomains.com a couple of times on domains that I looked up and then later came back to register. Have had to go through a few rounds of them and their related companies bouncing the domains from one company to the other every 5 days (and one time is was held for only 4 days based upon the new reg date vs the previous). The longest (and most recent) round took 6 weeks before I was able to grab the dn between drops - or then again, maybe they finely gave up and decided it wasn't worth anything...

If (for example) both games.com and wwwgames.com were showing ppc ads, I'd have a hard time seeing a ruling in favor of the non-typo.

Can wwwgames.com be considered a brandable? Was talking to a non-Internet savy 46 year old the other day and she was saying "My kids go to www Amazon dot com" to buy books. She actually thought it was wwwAmazon.com!

No doubt wwwgames.com would benefit from typo traffic from games.com but could it be treated as a brandble on its own... its possible that if wwwGames.com is built into a bigger site than games.com, then in that case games.com would be benefiting from typos of wwwgames.com

Would be great if anyone has a link to a WIPO ruling on this www issue.
