What do you think is the enduser value of this domain name? Speculation from $50 to $60,000+ on the value. I have recieved a lot of interest in it but what do you think would be a good asking price for It. Obviously its whatever someone is willing to pay for it but what do you think is reasonable?

I was scrolling down the replies, saw Saddam.tv, and was gonna go for it until I saw your reply!

Saddam.com - very strong. Bound to be some made-for-tv histories (prob are already, I haven't paid attention), there are already so many news items and bios, bound to also be a movie or 5 somewhere built around it. I agree that of course the hooplah will die down somewhat... but not for a few years. And even after that, there will be a lot of history studies needing research, a lot of future news needing reference, etc., and of course you have the top name for a portal for anything-Saddam.
So, while the publicity about him is high, of course you might see your highest price for a sale... but with great monetizing (I see you have good monetizing already) it'll bring you an income that might be considerable for many years and well outweigh the one-time selling price.

I guess the kicker is deciding just how much you think the traffic can bring you over time, versus how much you'd prefer the cash now to do other things with...

Nice name. And some nicely-entertaining stuff onsite so it isn't just a dry reference site.

Saddam stuff is relatively quiet right now in a calm-before-the-storm way IMO, but the **** will hit the fan soon with coverage, and then we'll see just what this name is worth. IMO it's far too soon to put an accurate value on it... with public's love of gossip/publicity/news, I think an extended trial and coverage will really bring this thing out into the sunshine and drive your value up above these estimates here... regardless of how Saddam stacks up to Hitler et al, in today's world we have massive coverage and they love to play it for all its worth.

ExpireGuy Yes there are lots of people with the name Saddam besides Mr Hussien but i agree he has tainted the name.

I have set up PPC and just waiting a bit to see how well it monetizes and so fare have not been advertising it really and been getting a lot of offers. I woould have to agree.. its hard to figure out which would net more.. a quick sale.. or longterm monitization. Thanks everyone for your input.. Rep added all around. More comments welcome

Ideally, you want high OVT / WT results and LOW Google results.. low Google assures you a number 1 rank on the SE as there is less competition for the keyword / keyword phrase. High OVT / WT assures it's being actively searched for.

OVT on "saddam" is only 20k.. not bad, but not exceptional when compared to "iraq" (311k OVT) which has less stigma and more staying power (for example). Once the trial is over, that 20k OVT will plummet, mark my words.

At least you have 132 OVT with extension.

How much did it cost to acquire? What is the traffic stats? Has it been monetizing for you since April/May with any measurable amounts? Are you getting offers ... and from whom, and how much? Which specific End users are you targeting presently? :talk:

That being said, and I'll revisit with your reply ... $750 - $1,125+/+ in a "Quick Sale", IMHO. Perhaps less +/+ for a super "Quick Sale", as well! :music:
PS. The trial could increase exposure, but this will also "date" the domain name ... in my view.
