www Not Appearing in the Address Bar

Quick question for those of you with web development experience.

I am working on the design of a blog for a client. The blog is going to be hosted at Blue Host as an add-on domain to an existing hosting package the client has there.

For some reason when she types www.xyz.com (not the acutal URL) into the address bar, it goes to the correct site but it drops the www so it appears at http://xyz.com.

Why is it doing that? What issues would this present?

Check your .htaccess file, its probably removing the www. from the URL. (Like my blog does.)

It shouldn't present any issues at all, as long as the redirect is correctly done.
