It is always good idea to have some short, 3 letters or maybe even 4 letters .com, so if end user want to shorten their name and use this shortcut, they can do it and buy the name from you.
But all has its limits : people can remember name like rea.com, it is perfect Peple can also remember name like vrea.com (which might well go for Virginia Real Estate Agent). But after you cross line of 4 letters, 5 letters are not so doable anymore (wvrea already not so memorable)..But it is not only memorability issue, it is also number of available domains, and probability that exactly this name will be wanted by end user, and end user will want to pay some nice premium for it. From my perspective, probabilities are still good on 4L level, but on 5L level they start to be bad for domainer. This is also reflected indirectly in chip name prices (compare standard 4L chip price with 5L...huge difference).
So when I say no value, what I mean exactly is that you can get lets say mid XXX when end user who happens to be West Virginia Real Estate Agent will want the name so much that it will pay a premium to domainer for it, but probability is so small, that in average, when you are selling names like these, your total profit will be negative (again, in average, accross portfolio of such names).
