As Airship says, it will be a hard sell at best. When you buy a name with seemingly random letters, you drastically reduce the amount of potential endusers. When the the sequence is pronounceable it can at least be deemed "brandable". Even then the target audience is extremely small. For beginner domainers I would ALWAYS recommend quality over quantity of name. The system that some domainers employ is quite the opposite.
