Troubling to say the least. I am not sure how they can do this.

Is it good? Will they keep it for one of their shell companies? :td:

Also check to see if the domain is available or if it is regged with another registrar.

Yes it is good. They still have it reg'd on the date I bought it.
I am calling them now.

Ok, they fixed the problem. It was somehow a duplicate order. They gave it back to me. yes!!!

That is why I went with godaddy, after reading of other peoples problems. Godaddy is big and doesn't do that. That is why i freaked. So it was an honest mistake.
No harm no foul. I still like godaddy. They have been honest by me. 9/10 stars.

Godaddy did me this way on a LLL.com some time ago. It was showing available at a domain generator, I registered it at Godaddy and later that same day I got a similar email.

The Whois Showed it was registered to a Godaddy subsidiary that day.

Unfortunately this sort of thing can and does happen. I don't know if this has
been growing steadily or declining over the years, but I know it's occurring.

Many registrars' agreements say they'll refund your money if they weren't able
to register the domain name for you, nor do they guarantee it'll be error free.

Yep I once saw newhome.com available as one of godaddy's suggested names and I registered it!!! Only to get and email later from godaddy saying that the name was registered already and that it was an error on their part. I got my refund back.

That happened to me before. Once I regged all the top keywords in the .nu extention because according to Godaddy they were available but in reality, they were already regged a few years ago

It happens from time to time. Sometimes they get a bad connection to the registry and they attempt to register it for you - sometimes it goes through, other times it doesnt. Godaddy's customer support is top notch though and Im glad they were able to resolve your issue.
