Would you reg these names?

I seem to have found a little niche of unregged names that has not yet been mined. Something like "ChicagoTrees.com". Something people would typically search for for certain information. There are a bunch of them with WordTracker scores between 50 and 100, Keyword Discovery scores between 250 and 750 and OVT scores between 1000 and 3000 plus (the OVT scores are actually much higher but I'm only taking a fraction of it since it is also counting the singular form, etc. The fraction is based on the percentage my form of the phrase gets on Keyword and WordTracker, which is about 47% of the total on average).

So I'm wondering, does this seem like decent search volume for such domains? Would you reg them, based on what you know? And would it make sense to create a mini-site on one central domain (e.g. LocalTreeInfo.com) and point all the domains to it in order to max out the search volume? In other words, should I create 15 sites w/1500 OVT each or one site w/22,500 OVT?

If they are .coms with those stats, then buy them all.

That was my inclination as well. But it will amount to a few hundred dollars in new regs so I thought it smart to double check first...

Any thoughts about pointing them all at one site?

I think regging them, developing a mini-site and pointing them all there is a good idea :)

make sure you search correctly, i.e., the correct ordering, and no space between words.

If those stats seem correct to you as well as the word order, I would register those names

Thanks for the replies. I've picked what I think are the best 23 of them. Here are the stats ~ slightly less than what I stated above: WT scores between 47 and 89 (avg 71), KD between 115 and 557 (avg 272), and OVT between 898 and 3086 (avg 1459).

If I draw the cutoff at 1300 OVT minimum - which I originally intended - I would be down to 17 domains.

As for the word order thing, it is a phrase that can be and is used in two ways, one the reverse of the other. Kind of like "used cars chicago" and "chicago used cars" (except it's informational not commercial). One form is about 3 or 4 times more common than the other. All of those are gone. I think I got the last one. But the second, less common version has the same and sometimes better search volume. I think this is because it is the version you would typically type in if you were in a hurry, on the fly. Most of these are gone as well but I seem to have found some decent ones.

For some reason, WordTracker only provides search volume for the second form of the phrase, the one I'm now after. So it may be lumping both forms together, which would cut those figures roughly in half. Does anyone know if WT does this? KeywordDiscovery lists both forms, the second form is about 45% of the total search volume for both forms combined. So the OVT I've listed is 45% of the total OVT given for the phrase (yes, from January) since Overture definitely includes both versions in its results.

So... all that considered, does it still seem like a good find? Would you get them all or limit it to just the best ones? Where would you draw the line?

If you are talking about city + keyword...
I am surprised you managed to find them this late.

I have 300+ such domains.
Current enduser price average about $500 from my experience.
However, I only sold them to company who already owns web site for their business.
In other words, they pay $500 for secondary domain just for extra traffics.

If enduser do not have web site, I think you can sell them for $1K easily.

I've been offered low xxx per domain for all of them and I turned it down because I think value will double in a year or two as more and more smaller local businesses are starting web site.

By all means, get them all if you can.
