How would you value it though? If you buy a domain for $10,000 and value it at $100,000 for a donation, even with good appraisals, it's going to raise a big red flag.

No - No and No, I was contacted about a name, a .org having to do with Cure. The person who contacted me wanted it as a donation, When i said, Ok, I will donate your org the name, But, I want a 4% vest in the cause, They refused, So i sold them the name.

They wanted me to give them my name, But didn't want to make me a very-very small part of the effort in return. Nooo-No

Sure, if I'm sitting on a few multi-million dollar names, why not?
If I'm struggling to make ends meet (while waiting for an end-user sale on a good domain), probably not.

First of all the majority of domains are not liquid. I don't see the point to donate a domain instead of cash or other useful products. If somebody needs a decent domain they should raise the money and buy a domain within the budget.
If someone urgently needs money or food to survive or to feed their children I would understand and probably donate that but certainly no domain!

I've just given a name to someone in Venezuela who is trying to survive on $30 per month. She is using it for a blog about Venezuelan life, and I hope she can build it into an asset that she can use if she has to emigrate.
