Would a "broker" section be a good idea (Admin - Please read, thanks!)

What do people think about a section about brokering - where people could list areas where they have contacts so that people could PM domains in that area?

A section where people post "broker wanted" for a list of domains would probably just lead to thousands of names being posted every second :) , but maybe one restricted to the brokers themselves opening themselves up to PMs or posts, e.g. "I will broker 3 word or less .coms in the travel industry"

Thoughts?

I like this idea :)

And I am wondering that would NP provide Escrow Service? I am sure lot of NPers here would use it if available :imho:

the problem with that kind of an idea is that, paypal has got chargebacks and who pays for the domain if someone scams by doing a chargeback?

Yes, that is a problem and I don't have answer. But how the other Escrow guys handle it? (Sedo, afternic et al...) Do they have some special agreement with Paypal? I am sure there must have some solution :)

We could just use escrow.com or something - I've done it before and I don;t want to lose the "broker" idea because of the escrow issue.

Does anyone know how to PM or e-mail admin? I think this would have to be a "sticky" to really work.

I think this is a great idea. I have very few contacts and would love to be able to reach more potential buyers. I think the broker aspect sometimes gives both parties a third parties insight. Great for negotiating.

The problem I see here is with the quality of brokered domain names, and the quality of people offering brokering services. I think every rookie domainer is going to offer to broker deals for domains and post all of there (less than par) domains to be brokered.

Its an interesting Idea, but I see a lot of issues with it.

I would again say that sellers would not be "allowed" to post names they want brokered, it would only be for the brokers to say what their talents/connections are. When you in turn PM them your names you can put minumums you'd sell them for.

I think its worth a try.

(p.s. nice to hear from you Spade - hope the move went well)
