advice Worth registering upcoming event Domains ?

I've observed some event which uses a new domain for new year like xxxx2017.com then xxxx2018.com, I checked xxxx2019.com, xxx2020.com is Available, Should I register that domain and wait for them to make offer for that domain?

It could work, but I would try to sell it proactively, rather than wait for them to come to me.
