Well well...international football's back on the agenda after an amazing Euro 2008! The first round of fixtures begin on Saturday and there are some potential banana skins for a lot of the top nations!

How do you rate your country's chances?

Personally, not looking forward to Scotland's two tricky away games in Macedonia and Iceland. If we can manage to get 4 points from these two games we should be up there challenging.

Going to a couple of the away games hopefully. Got flights to Holland booked in March and probably Norway in August '09 :tu:

Mon the Scots :tu:

My country never does well...even if they play football 24/7. Ugh.

Scolari left the Portugal team and headed for Chelsea. We now have Carlos Queiroz as national coach. He was assistant manager at Manchester United for 4 years. He's been experimenting with lots of diferent players. Too early to tell if we will make it, although in theory our chances are excellent, but we all know how football can surprise us all.

Yeah, I hope Scotland get to the finals. we haven't qualified for a major tournament since France '98! Mainly because we always get a bad group! for euro 2008, we had France, Italy and the Ukraine in our group! Got a decent draw this time as 2nd seeds so no excuses if we dont reach the play-offs! :hehe:

England are shite, waste of space to many big names guarranteed their place.

Croatia will win the group ( again) imo.

Scotland may scrape second in their group, but Holland will win it easily.

Uhhh... The USA doesn't have a chance. My money is on either Brazil, Argentina, or Italia.

Wales are awful.
Both Irish teams are pretty rubbish.
Scotland have a slim chance of reaching the quarters, as do England.
USA will probably qualify for the actual World Cup but won't go anywhere.

I really hope a team that maybe isn't so famous and well followed wins it, for once. Or at least gets to the final. Would be nice to see semi finals with an African, American, European and Asian nation, though I don't see it happening!

Ive heard some crafty stories from Macedonia! Scottish supporters have only been giving 1000 seats and there's 5 times as many Scots there than seats. The Macedonian authorities have banned Scots from buying tickets for the home end and will only let Macedonians in. However, those Scots who've bought tickets for the home end are putting on fake tan and traditional dress to try and fool the police :hehe:

Losing to Macendonia!

really disappointed - the ref got many crucial decisions wrong. The Macedonian guy dived after 5 mins which lead to the goal. Think 3 Macedonians were booked for diving. really poor sportsmanship.

ach well, off to Iceland.

Interesting night last night with England winning 4-1 (unfortunately haha)

Luxembourg managed to win only there 2nd game in over 14 years away to Switzerland!

Glad the Scots got off the mark :tu:

Portugal were beating Denmark 2-1 just 5 minutes from the end and then conceded 2 goals to lose the game. Bloody frustrating!
