I registered a domain and am using WordPress to write some content and get search rankings up. I do currently have domainname parked on Sedo, my question is when I want to link WordPress to my actual domain rather than just domainname.wordpress.com how would I go about doing that? Also does WordPress allow affiliate ads? Any help would be appreciated.

If your website is hosted for free at WordPress.com, then no they don't allow ads.

VIP service allows you run your own ad: http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/

For the free WordPress.com service, I believe there is a custom domain feature (which might require you to pay for the service). But I am not sure how that works :/

Hope this helps a bit.

Good luck :)

Thank you very much! That did help a bit, my goal is eventually to make something like Trip advisor but on a smaller scale by eventually getting outside hosting and web design.

Moving your WordPress.com blog to new hosting isn't that difficult and most hosts offer assistance if you need it.

One way to move your blog is to use the Export and Import tools in WordPress.

Good luck!
