I am starting a few WP blogs. I was wondering if this will affect my SERP's. I don't have the skill right now to design full sites. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

P.S. These sites will contain unique content but free WP themes. Will this affect SERP's at all?

i find that wordpress is decent for search engine optimization as long as you customize your permalinks and get some sort of seo plugin. the fact that you'll be providing unique content is great too.

You can use post slug feature in your WordPress, it will improve your blog’s SEO. Post slug feature is located among one of the boxes at the right side: Categories, Post Status, Discussion…
If you enable permalinks and use post title in the URL structure, then you know that the post title becomes part of the URL for each individual post page, it will improve your blog’s SEO

you may also use feedburner.com for it's .xml feed so that your posts will be announce to blog directories instead of doing it inside wordpress which will slow down the posting time.

I think yes it would be very useful. Anyway blogs (wordpress) are in love with SE.

Wordpress has been publicly praised by matt cutts on a few occasions with regards to what it does for SEO.

Recent version of Wordpress has seen significant improvement of its SEO capability. Make sure that you install a plugin for sitemap indexing.

the sitemap plugins are nothing compared to the actual seo plugins. get one of those first.
