Sold for $1.45 on ebay... :red: And the registration cost me $7.... :red: So not very good ROI, but hey, this was my first one and it's start!

Domain was Seeking*House dot com.
Starting price: $0.99.

Hmm... I think I've would manage to get at least the regfee of it. Should I set BIN when selling on ebay? Someone told me always list your domains $0.99...

I am surprised you didn't get regfee for it. Ebay is hit or miss. A BIN wouldn't have helped in this case. I usually do the same style auctions if I sell on ebay, start at .99 with no reserve. BINs can be useful but I don't use them in every auction.

Congrats on your sale.. Don't get discouraged, you should be able to make reg fee + on your next sale to help average out your roi ;)

These things average out, you might lose $6 on this one, gain $20 the next.

Experience is valuable too - well worth the $6.

HI

If you sell your domains on ebay.... set the starting price at $9.99 I have noticed it makes no real difference... then if you set it at 0.99cents... but at least you don't loose money.

Anyway Congrats.

Thanks! It's a long road ahead I know, but here it starts!
Next time when I sell on ebay I'll set the starting price at least regfee... ;)

Always set the starting price at an amount that you would be willing to sell the item for. Ebay pushes the 99 cent starts because they get paid (+ paypal fees) if the item sells.

If it does not sell then that is useful information for you also.

Watch paying for extras, too. They almost never are worth it unless you have something very valuable.

It was a sale, but at a loss. A transaction happened where goods & dollars were exchanged.

Congrats on the 1st one, all the best for the future names :)

Listing Fees is the difference and yes you can lose money if the domain doesn't sell listing at $9.99... Lising fees add up fast.

The Quality of the domain really sets the price, but as said, eBay can be hit or miss. Watch trends on eBay, because there are a lot of them. Sometimes pronounceable 5L,com's are hot, the next week 4L.com's are hot. "Look cool" or "Sound cool" names do pretty good on eBay since most of the buyers have no clue on the value of the domains....

Congrats, listing your domains on Ebay could be worthwhile but yes always set a reserve price that you won't lose out with unless you are postive it will gets lots of bidding.

I think that's way too low. Anyways, congratulations for the big sale. :p

Its ok to start at .99c to attract bidders...but maybe next time you might want to set a reserve price that covers the the regfee, ebayfees, and paypalfees.

I started selling on Ebay a few years back (not domains). I used to go to garage and estate sales, antique stores and find old stuff that I could sell for profit! (hard life, I also did dropshipping, way better but still...involves work) I have moved on.
