Wondering How to Fix it ?

Hi there , the one thing i do like about this forum is every now and then i need to ask for help and this is one of those times

I have the blog gtld.com.au and today i edited a post only to find that the site is now not working ?????

Please be aware when it comes to all this programming stuff i am quite dumb , but any advice would be greatly appreciated though , below is the error message that is now in the posts at this site , and i truly have no idea of how to fix it ???? Syntax ??? Manual ????

Sorry i'm just a blogger having some fun and have no idea of how to restore this back to how it should be ?

WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1]

Any ideas ????

Ergh, was Wordpress fully up to date? If you haven't made any changes to files specifically you might want to try re-uploading them because that shouldn't be happening on a stable version of Wordpress.

Hmm Hey Try to do one thing:- Log into your Cpanel and navigate to MySQL Database page. Then click on "Repair Database" button.

Maybe this will solve your problem.

well i have found my way there , just cant find which one is the site just wp numbers (wordpress), so doing repair to all .....let you know

Its a tough one, it sounds like a bug with Wordpress not escaping strings properly, in the table wp_term2syn what is term 30?

hey friend i have no idea how to answer that question

i don't know how to get to wp_term2syn what is term 30?

i can open up the files at hosting but dont even know where to start looking and if i found it ..............how to fix it ?

term2syn is not a standard wordpress table. Had a quick search and found that it appears to be a table used by a plugin called Gengo (WordPress › Gengo « WordPress Plugins). It may be worth trying to deactivate the plugin and readding it. Also might be worth updating the plugin if you have an old version.

A word of caution however the plugin has not been updated since 2008 so the development may be dead and may not work with future updates in wordpress. The support section on the creators website no longer exists either.

ok , that's interesting because i did try to install gengo and it failed , i did not consider that option , something to look into thanks

pleased to say i got my site back, peter nailed it , although i didn't see any reference to gengo ??? unsure hopw you did that , but then again i am unsure about many things on the net !

I knew that wp_term2syn is not a standard wordpress table (which is a table mentioned in the error you gave). Doing a quick search for term2syn only gave results back for gengo so a safe bet this is the plugin involved.
