Yes, I wasn't able to pass on this domain since I already own a developed and sort of branded wombat website: www.wombats.info LOL :D

Honestly I don't really know what to do with the wombat.net domain/website as of now but I am thinking of making it my storefront and keeping wombats.info as my main site perhaps, I know that wombat.net is like 50 times the better domain but the thing is I have spend so much time on wombats.info already and you could say the name is "branded" to a certain degree and on average I get like 70-80 unique visitors a day already... What would you do? Looking for ideas.

What do you think the domain is worth? I will probably contact a few potential endusers I have in mind before making any further developing efforts, but my thinking is I would most likely refuse any offer below high $x.xxx since I am sort of emotionally attached to this purchase already (for full disclosures sake: I paid $400 for the domain).

Any input is much appreciated.

As a totally protected species and not having the cute factor of their cousin, the Koala, wombats are not easy to monetise.

I'm glad I didn't answer first when I saw it this morning because DJ has confirmed my first impressions by what he says...it is a nice name and all that but wombats don't actually bring in the money unfortunately as I can see..

Have you considered somehow using it as a redirect or extra site in order to strengthen your position?

Until you get it earning and showing it can stand on its own with more traffic I don't think you will ever see mid-xxxx, especially as some months back the category killer wildlife.net was for sale on here for less than $2000

thanks for the replies...

I went ahead this morning contacting 9 carefully selected businesses that certainly have the funds to buy me out (my price is pretty high but I wouldn't sell for less - emotional attachment LOL), I will wait for a reply till end of the week and then follow up per phone the following week, if no positive reply by then I will start to develop the domain properly, either way is fine with me to be honest.

Please understand that this is a one time opportunity to purchase wombat.net, the moment development has begun it will never be for sale again. :D
