Withdrawing Money From PayPal Account Prevents Chargeback?

I just got my Paypal Debit card today.

I was wondering if I withdrew the money from my paypal account immediately after receiving it, is there still the possibility of a chargeback?

In other words, is there any way to prevent chargebacks?

No, it will absolutely NOT protect you from chargebacks. They will either take your account into the negative, or simply take the funds from the attached bank account. There is no way to prevent chargebacks with PayPal.

Best way to prevent chargebacks is to not use PayPal :P

Are we notified of the chargeback (if any) through email, or do we have to check our account at paypal or the credit card statement?

You will be notified of it, but sometimes it can take as long as a couple of months after the transaction

so my best bet is to use only Escrow.

Btw, uptil what amount do you guys prefer to use PayPal? I know some people won't take amounts greater than $500 through Paypal...

I personally prefer not to do anything above 500-750 depending on the situation. I've never had any problems with paypal and chargebacks with domains or otherwise. Probably will just come down to preference.

Anything over $200 goes to escrow.com for me.

Thanks for the input guys.

Btw, does anybody have any input regarding Wire Transfers? They are a lot quicker than Escrow, and safe too.

Perfect for the seller (wait until your bank says the funds have cleared). Buyer has no protection whatsoever. Hopefully, the buyer trusts you.

What are the other methods of withdrawing money from Paypal? I only know of transferring it to my bank.

I believe they'll cut you a check if you wish as well.

They will cut a check and send it to a physical address (not a PO Box).

My policy

PayPal (Verified only) for transactions less then $500
Escrow.com for all transactions over $500

Depends how fast the parties complete the steps. Basically there is no "lag" on Escrow.com's part, as some may experience through Sedo... If the steps are completed by the parties than the money is sent. Very simple.

Exactly... and I don't think they shut down for the weekend like Sedo does.

I've seen people only want to use verified Paypal for sales, is there any paticular reason for only accepting verified users?

yes, verified Paypal generally means that the user has got a credit card on file that means that Paypal has concrete proof of the existence and proof of address of that person..

there are methods to bypass that which i am not going to list here.
