Yesterday I registered two domains, one with the ending s and one without. I like the one with because it fits better. Today I got a $50 offer on the one without the s. He is not going to start a competing site. Does the s really make that big of a difference? If RJ had NamePro.com, is it vital to keep it? If I sold the domain for $50, I would get my money back from the domain I am going to keep.

my experience is that unless the plural is significant to the name ie is distinctly better, then IMHO default reads that (subject to some notable exceptions) the singular is better. If I were in your position and I really liked the same and i intended to develop sometime in the future, then I would release the plural and keep the singular. On the other hand if the singular is strictly there for sale, then sell it!

For only $50, unless the names are middle-of-the-road at best, keep them both and try to sell as a package later on.
Keeping variations of your name as a developed site is highly important.
