So I haven't had my site up for a while since I didn't have enough money to monetize it,
Upon checking my alexa rank, apparently my sites rank has gone up 13 million..in the last three months that it has been inactive..it is now at around 7 million before was around 20,
What should I do to capitalize on this ? did I already miss out on a lot of potential traffic ?
Can someone with some site building expertise please tell me what I should do to do something with my site,

nah... there's always plenty of freaks out there that push the end of the world propaganda. Harold Camping... dude predicted the end of the world two times now. Maybe you can partner up with him and have him make another prediction. 3rd times a charm!

I think you have this the wrong way,
Im not one to argue or try an offend anyone over the internet, i think it shows weakness, but anyhow i will say that in a world where most find society to be prosperous and filled with promise, there will always be those who think the opposite, especially if you look at politics, the media, and other key factors that make up society, willtheworldend.com was in my eyes never intended to preach propaganda or to scare people, but a site where people can speak openly about topics such as the united states default crisis that is going on right now. There are always two sides to a story and if you ever think any different then your just oblivious to facts, the propaganda is in fact what they tell you is the truth, to believe in supporting something that in no way is benefiting us all as it should. At the end of the day im not disagreeing with what you said, about that guy and his work, there are alot of cooks out there, but at the end of the day, willtheworldend ? is a question almost all of us ask ourselves from time to time..

The question you should be asking yourself is not "Will the world end?" rather, "Can I translate curiosity of the world ending into profit?" Since you are not Professor Doomsday (as far as we know) with a public obligation to dispel important information to the public for free, this will help you frame your monetization solution.

You'll probably find that google adsense is escaped by those who believe they are cunning enough to outlast an apocalypse, so perhaps you can research a good affiliate program appropriate to your topic. Take advantage of curiosity, as important people often do, and convince people that they need your product or services to survive.

I once had the most visited end-of-the-world site on the web. It is a very hard topic to monetize. AdWords was giving me $100-$300 when it was peaking at 50,000 visitors per day. I tried every type of ad including insurance, prepper supplies, books - plus non-related but high-converting products. Getting more than 1c per visit was a struggle.

I even have a mailing list with 13,000 people who are interested in this topic. PM me if you want to buy it, but I failed to monetize it to any worthwhile extent.

It's not a niche that will make you rich! Some times you just have to accept that your domain isn't as great as you once thought.

I am currently in the process of writing an ebook for the site called "will the world end ?" and most likely will be giving a free tshirt with the book. this will help me gain traffic and raise revenue for further site construction.
