The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I'd like to make the Traffic show, although it depends on whether my travel schedule will allow. Two great shows this spring, for sure.

I'd love to attend but my college budget won't allow it.

I will be at the Vegas Show... Moniker has added my www.gopc.com domain suite to their Elite Names list for Live Auction on May 4th there in Vegas. Gotta be there for that!

Keeping my fingers crossed :D

And yet I'm feeling it's slightly closer than Bristol, UK :D

I'd like to attend in the next couple of years for sure, as soon as my finances allow :]

On the inside

I'll be there/here....I live in Las Vegas and work in the industry. I might be working the show. If not I will be attending for sure. If I can assist any NP members with litt., names, contact info on any exhibitors I would be glad to.
I'll be, descretely, going with a few hundred letters and business cards. I'll be taking a long walk thru the parking lot as well.

Ron, are YOU going?

As of right now, I'm only planning to be at TRAFFIC 2006. I look forward to meeting some of you!

My wife and I are expecting a child that's due a little too close to the Domain Roundtable dates, or else I would love to be at that event as well.

Okay, this is really a very interesting post.

Questions to Namenut and anyone who attended the last year's show(s):
  • What's your technique? Do you simply approach people and introduce yourself?
  • Have attending the show generated any business for you? Deals, sales, partnerships, contracts?
  • You've mentioned a letter. Would you mind sharing its content? Just trying to get the feeling of what works best.
  • Parking lot walk. Stuffing ads under windshield wipers, I gather? Is this an effective way to promote your agenda?
  • Would you consider collecting business cards from those of us who can't attend for a fee? Say, 50 people would mail you 500 (or whatever the number of attendees is) cards each, so you can put together 500 bundles of 50 cards each, and present them to everyone?

I like that idea. If the fee is nominal, I'm in.

Good idea with the business card bundles.

I think the number of attendees is around 300, but in reality you'd be lucky to have time to network with half of them. Even though I'm attending, I still wouldn't mind adding my card to the bundle.

Congrats RJ!

And I'd like to attend but I'm not exactly on a budget that allows that..

One problem for me: no time and no expendable money.

Too costly. Call me spoiled but I'm use to sponsors footing the bill to attract new business not the other way around. Atleast thats the way it works in the mortgage business. As much as I would like to believe differently I think both conferences are nothing more than another way for those who are running the show to make more money. 300 attendees at $1500 a pop makes 450k plus sponsors money. Twice a year for TRAFFIC is an easy million dollar a year racket.

So you believe it should be FREE? Its still a business venture that is helping YOU the business improve or learn what they have done to be successful. The only seminars that I know of that are free are scams, they ask for money to get all the info they were talking about and the stuff they didn't talk about at the end in a DVD set or book.

Leo,
I would love to jump in here;
1). Last year I networked by standing and listening, then they would ask you what you have and it would go from there. I did meet 1 person that really helped and introduced me to a lot of people.
2). I don't know that it has generated me a ton of money but it was like being at the MLB HALL OF FAME and these were live HOF`rs walking around, just neat to listen and be seen, I'm sure it helps many but for me it was about listening and learning. I got some great info on my portfolio and what my niche should be.
3). the letter I don't know what that is..?

namenut
4). If The casino sees you setting flyer's under-windshields and I'm sure namenut knows this, as the security is everywhere in the parking garages, you will kicked off the resort. So I wont be doing that.
5). I to would do the business cards for you and who ever would like, I would set them on the tables out when you enter, where they have advertisements if you would like. It would be worth a Vegas fin ($5) or 100 NP`s for any amount of cards per person. I would bundle them and take pictures and email them as the proof, Email me if you want more info. I did go last year and live here in Las Vegas for over 9 years incorporated since 2002 under Joker Productions, Inc. in Las Vegas NV. prior it was a Texas Corp, for 5 years under SecureYours, also ( namenut send me a PM we could go together) :tu:

Thanks Francois.
Good to hear from a LV local. The reason I'm asking these questions is to justify the cost.
Roughly:
$1500 attendance (early admission) + $600 room (after discounts) + $300 airfare (roundtrip from East Coast) + food + entertainment + car rental (needed?) - that would be at least $3K (more for me... try to drag me away from craps table).

Is $3K a reasonable investment considering all long-term opportuninies? Anyone wants to share a room?
